The Young and the Restless has the best hotel based on a poll of soap fans

Soaps.com did a poll of soap fans regarding their favorite place to reside on daytime television. THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL had nothing to offer and was never in the running. The results regarding the remaining 3 daytime drama's were as follows:

The Young and the Restless' Genoa City Athletic Club 13%

Days of Our Lives' Salem Inn 13%

General Hospital's Metro Court 35%

The Young and the Restless' Grand Phoenix 40%

Let's take a look at the history of these fine establishments.

The Genoa City Athletic Club

The major families on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS of Genoa City who are all very wealthy often frequented the athletic club. The Newmans, Abbotts, Williams, Winters, and Baldwins were often seen there. Gina Roma once was the manager, but ownership was never established until 2014 when Devon Hamilton took over. The GCAC has been used for birthday celebrations, balls, weddings, and other special events. Dina Mergeron and her associate Garth were staying at the club before her dementia kicked in. There were also a few murders that took place on the premises. Often when Genoa City couples ae having difficulties or breaks up one of them will take up residence at the club.

The Salem Inn

On DAYS OF OUR LIVES, The Salem Inn is a staple of the city. During the 1980s Alex Marshall made an investment in this business on the advice of his then partner in crime, Victor Kiriakis. The inn is a brick and wood structure, that stands ten stories high, and offers quaint hotel rooms above a number of lounges, meeting rooms, and restaurants. There are so many memories inside these walls from the many Salemites who decided to stay.

The Metro Court

The Metro Court is owned by Carly Corinthos and Olivia Quartermaine. It is a hotel and also has offices for several businesses such as Crimson Magazine and Aurora Media. There have been shootouts as well as hostage situations at the Metro Court. Dignitaries, as well as town residents, have booked rooms in this hotel and there usually is a lot going on within the walls. Right now Olivia is being shown mostly at the Quartermaine mansion and Carly has her hands full being the new mob boss queen in Port Charles. Hopefully, this favorite spot for Port Charles residents might soon see action again.

The Grand Phoenix

The Grand Phoenix is the hotel on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS that Phyllis Summers was working on while she was at Dark Horse. After sending Dark Horse into bankruptcy by selling off the real estate Phyllis incurred the wrath of Adam Newman. To spite her Adam sold the project to Abby Newman, who later brought Chelsea Lawson in on the deal. Phyllis was forced to share her project with these women until she bought Abby out and blackmailed Chelsea into giving up her shares.

Phyllis began having financial troubles and the Grand Phoenix was bought out from under her by Victoria Newman. There were a lot of issues between the two women but Nick Newman got them to compromise and now Vickie has her sights in other directions. Phyllis, however has her hands full right now dealing with Ashton Locke, and THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS viewers finally have a name for the mysterious employee who has been wearing the same green dress for over 6 months. Her name is Crystal and fans are waiting for her back story.

Soap fans have spoken but who knows, next time the poll could have different results.
