The Bold and the Beautiful slipped up with Steffy's amnesia

If the memory loss storyline was valid then there should have been questions related to Kelly

The Bold and the Beautiful hit a snag

Thursday on The Bold and the Beautiful the storyline related to Steffy Forrester Finnegan ( Jackie Wood) having amnesia had a little snafu. Steffy woke from her coma believing she is still married to Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and that their daughter Kelly Spencer (Sophia Paras McKinlay) is her only child.

Many viewers said this was a cringe-worthy moment when on Thursday, Steffy dismissed Hope Spencer ( Anika Noelle) by ordering her out of the hospital room so she could bond with her "little family". Hope reluctantly left and peered through the glass window on the door as Liam sat by Steffy's side and Kelly was lying across her mother's chest.

Steffy does not remember John Finnegan (Tyler Novlin) or their son Hayes. Everyone is playing along and Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) does not believe her daughter should be pushed to remember the truth. Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang ) is saying it's wrong to deceive Steffy and the two women are at war again.. In the meantime, there is a problem with what Steffy does recall.

The Bold and the Beautiful: The problem with Kelly

Kelly was born in June of 2018 and Zoe Pennington originated the role and remained in it until November of that year. Chloe Teperman took over in December 2018 and played Kelly until March 2019. Colette and Avalon Gray had the role from February 2020 until McKinlay debuted this week.

McKinlay's age has not been revealed but she looks to be 4 or 5. Spoilers have said the young character has been aged a bit but Kelly should be turning 4 this year. This is why there is a problem with the storyline. Young children change rapidly so a four-year-old looks different than a two-year-old and is taller. If Steffy's mind is stuck in time to the days when she was married to Liam she should be wondering why the little girl is in her bed is so large.

Steffy should have questions

Are The Bold and the Beautiful viewers expected to believe Steffy recalls her marriage to Liam but nothing else? Consider that Liam was married to Hope in 2020 when he thought she was cheating with Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson). In his pain, he slept with Steffy, and initially, they were not sure who her baby daddy was.

There has not been enough time to go by where history can be rewritten so if Steffy believes she is married to Liam she should be questioning her daughter's size. She should also wonder why her parents are so lovey-dovey and will surely notice the changes in her home when she is released. Will her family actually hide her son from her and put the photo of Steffy with Liam back on the wall?

The Bold and the Beautiful: The future will be interesting

Steffy cannot be protected forever as there is a lot that can happen to jog her memory. How will they handle the situation if Kelly mentions her baby brother to her mother? There are other issues but this is daytime television and not necessarily based on reality. The Bold and the Beautiful viewers, however, will point these things out as time goes by and discuss them on social media. In the meantime, fans will have to get used to Steffy's selective amnesia and watch as Liam falls for her all over again.

A day will come, however, when Steffy will have to face the truth about Finn and realize her "little family' is not what she has believed. By then Hope's life will be in shambles and Liam may have fallen for Steffy once again. Fans are already expecting Hayes to turn out to belong to Liam so be on the lookout for updates to what happens next on The Bold and the Beautiful.
