Taylor Hayes Journey

Dr. Taylor Hayes (Hunter Tylo) is a beloved character on the CBS soap The Bold and the Beautiful. Tylo's alter ego was created by William J. Bell and debuted during the episode dated June 6, 1990, as a new love interest for Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye). Taylor has been on and of the CBS soap for 29 years first exiting in 1994 and returning a few l months later.

Tylo left the soap again in 1996 after being hired on Melrose Place. Soon after being fired from Fox series because she was pregnan,t she returned to B&B. Tylo became dissatisfied with her character's direction and agreed with executive producer Bradley Bell's ascertion that Taylor was "played out", The character was subsequently killed off and last appeared on the show in October 2002.

When Taylor was first introduced on The Bold and the Beautiful she was the psychiatrist helping Ridge deal with his grief over the death of his wife, Caroline Spencer (Joanna Johnson). Taylor and Ridge fell in love but, their relationship was plagued by the constant presence of Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang). The love triangle that ensued between Taylor, Ridge, and Brooke was one of B&B's most prominent storylines and it went on for decades.

Taylor and Ridge were married several times, and became parents to Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson). and twin daughters Steffy and Phoebe Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood and MacKenzie Mauzy). Their marriage was filled with trials including Taylor’s presumed deaths, Ridge cheated with Brooke and Phoebe died. The couple broke up and reconciled over and over their relationship finally came to an end in 2011, and Ridge is now with Brooke.

Taylor Hayes returns

Tylo returned as Taylor's ghost in 2004 and the following year the she came back on contract when her character revealed to be alive. Tylo exited The Bold and the Beautiful yet again in July 2013, but was back for a guest appearances in 2014. She reprised the role yet again from April 2018 to March 2019 only on a recurring basis. Tylo's last appearance was in 2019, and she was said to be doing mission work in another country.

The Bold and the Beautiful fans have questions

Viewers have wondered why Taylor missed so many milestones such as her son Thomas Forrester's (Matthew Atkinson) mental breakdown and brain surgury? Taylor also missed the birth of her grandson Hayes Forrester Finnegan (Samantha Worden) who was named for her. Fans are curious as to why the role was not recast if Tylo was not available and now it has been.

Hunter Tylo has not spoken out about why she did not return to The Bold and the Beautiful. The CBS soap only said they desired to get her back in the role of Taylor but were unable to. The fact that the show did not recast the character during the times Thomas and Steffy really needed their mom seems to indicate they were really holding out for Tylo. When it was clear that she was not going to return they did recast and fans are waiting to see what Allen brings to the table.

The Bold and the Beautiful Agenda for Taylor Hayes

Spoilers have teased several possible storylines for Thomas and Steffy's mom although nothing has been confirmed. Possible plots include Taylor hooking up with Ridge again or dating Dollar Bill Spencer (Don Diamont). There is even speculation that she could end up with Jack Finnegan (Ted King). Krista Allen and Matthew Atkinson recently bantered online about Thomas getting full custody of his son Douglas Forrester (Henri Joseph Saimiri). This would be a great storyline as Hope is not the biological mother of the little boy.
