Christian LeBlanc Steps Away from Michael Baldwin

Christian LeBlanc portrays lawyer Michael Baldwin on The Young and the Restless. His character is currently assisting Amanda Sinclair with a case but otherwise is absent from Genoa City. Fans love this soap vet and are delighted when he appears on the screen. LeBlanc made headlines in 2020 when he allowed his hair to go gray during the pandemic. Soap actors began doing their own hair and when restrictions let up LeBlanc decided to rock his silver mane rather than dye it and the fans love the new look.

Christian LeBlanc is a Silver Fox

Fan response was overwhelmingly in favor of this move and the actor was dubbed a silver fox. LeBlanc is now making headlines for another move and will soon tackle a role that is more demanding than being an attorney. He will soon star in the Tennesse Williams play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

The actor will portray Big Daddy Pollitt in the play that debuted in 1955. Big Daddy is a larger than life character who is a wealthy plantation owner. He confronts some painful truths with his son Brick and finds out he is dying of cancer. Burl Ives had the role of Big Daddy in the play and also the 1958 movie which starred Paul Newman and Elizabeth Taylor. In 1974 Fred Gwynn played the strong willed family patriarch when the play was back on broadway.

Big Daddy has a second son Cooper who seems to be in competition with Brick for the family inheritance. There is conflict because Cooper and his wife have several children while Brick and his wife have none. LeBlanc says that performing in this play in New York is on his bucket list and he is excited to be a part of it all.

Theater at St. Clements

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof will open in January 2022 at the Theater at St. Clements. This is a church congregation that has always celebrated those who are often rejected in mainstream religious communities. St. Clements supports the ministry of women, of gay and lesbian individuals, and people from all walks of life. St. Clements prides itself on being one of the most diverse Episcopal parishes in New York City. There is a history of celebrating social activism and being a center for creative liturgy, as well as longtime of service to the poor.

St. Clement's celebrates and serves the theatre district community, which is symbolized by their famous Mass in the Theatre which takes place most Sundays. They remain the third oldest, continually operating Off Broadway Theatre in New York City and that's pretty impressive.

Michael Baldwin

Christian LeBlanc began playing Michael Baldwin in 1991. He left Y&R in 1993, and has been appearing regularly since his return in April 1997. During a 2011 interview, LeBlanc said the following: "Every dau "you have this incredible challenge, which, as an actor, that’s what I find, that’s what keeps it interesting. Michael Baldwin is not me. Every day I have to say ‘This is a character I created,’ and I have to find him again every day and commit every day, 12 months a year."

Michael briefly crossed over to another CBS soap opera, As the World Turns in April 2005. He served as the attorney for Keith Morrissey (Kin Shriner).[ LeBlanc has won three Daytime Emmies for his portrayal of the popular character. He received the Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2005, 2007, and 2009. Best of luck to Christian Leblanc in his off-broadway performance and all future endeavors.
