Tessa may go on tour with Tannerk

Thee Young and the Restless viewers are burning up social media with their theories regarding Mariah and Tessa’s relationship. The two women have been hangers on to other storylines for quite a while, with nothing significant for themselves. They would show up glued to each other’s sides like Wendy and Lisa in the Prince movie Purple Rain and just be in a scene without being a real part of the action. A few months back fans were troubled when it was announced that Cait Fairbanks was placed on recurring status. This left Mariah to go it alone for quite some time without Tessa.

Last week on The Young and the Restless, Ms. Porter showed up in Genoa City once more. As she and Mariah were celebrating New Year’s Eve, Tessa’s phone rang right at midnight. She explained that it was a popular rock star named Tanner Watts, who wanted her to go on tour. Mariah was excited until Tessa later told her that Tanner had been her husband, but they were young and it did not mean anything. Tessa insisted that Tanner was interested in her music and not renewing their relationship.

Mariah was visibly hurt that Tessa had never mentioned ever having been married. She also said that it was indeed a big deal for an ex husband to want his former spouse to be his opening act. Tessa said she would turn Tanner down but Mariah walked out saying she needed some air. Y&R fans believe this is the kiss of death for the couple and that Tessa will go off with Tanner, never to return. If Ms. Porter goes on tour, it might be the way the writers explain her absence now that Cait Fairbanks is no longer on contract.

The fact that Tanner is Tessa’s former husband adds some intrigue to the situation and fans believe the ex spouses may reunite. If that happens it would not only end the relationship with Mariah and Tessa, it would indicate that Cait Fairbanks probably will be let go from The Young and the Restless. Fenmore was sent off on tour but has now returned to Genoa City, but Tessa leaving Mariah for an extended period of time just does not make much since.

There is always the possibility that to prove her loyalty, Tessa will ask Mariah to travel with her while she is in concert. This would mean that Cameron Crimes could also be placed on recurring status as well. Truthfully, Mariah has spent most of her recent time sparing with Summer, trying to protect Lola and Kyle, and consoling Devon and Sharon. She has been butting into everyone else’s business and its been a while since Mariah herself has truly been front and center. She appears in many scenes but they are always about other Genoa City residents and Ms. Copeland always comes across as a fifth wheel.

During Christmas, Mariah, Tessa, and Theo were in an awkward storyline where they found a bag of Christmas gifts that belonged to Victor Newman. The two women took the packages to the ranch where they found they were presents intended for children in the hospital, so they volunteered to distribute them. It’s as if the writers don’t have any idea what to do with these two. Tessa has lied so many times and Mariah has forgiven her each time. This time however could be different.

Mariah may find she is unable to forgive again and send Tessa away for good. Now that Tanner is in town, and has been revealed as Tessa’s ex husband, viewers are paying close attention to see if he will whisk Ms. Portland and possibly Mariah away from Genoa City. It’s looking like the powers that be want to break up this popular couple so stay tuned to find out how it all works out.
