China’s Music Industry Is Broken for Everyone
1 At two in the morning, a singer sits on the sofa outside a recording studio. His phone screen is still lit. Three days after release, his new song has two million plays. In the comments, someone writes, “I’ve had this on loop all day.” Someone else writes, “The chorus hit and I started crying.” He scrolls down to the backend revenue details. One yuan and seventy cents.

Best of Both Worlds
In my childhood I enjoyed Hannah Montana because she got to live two different lives. As Miley she could be treated like any high school girl and as Hannah as an adored celebrity. People either encouraged my enjoyment of the show or made negative commentary like, "Everyone would know they are the same person, you would have to be dumb to not." I think about this and wonder... The word isn't dumb, more like influenced by society to believe a certain way. I already knew people with different status are approached and spoken to differently. People will go with what they have been told about someone and how that may affect interacting with them.

Halloween Double Feature
Every October in elementary school, I've always looked forward to the Halloween party in class. Each one of us had a bag full of goodies and also had yummy treats. I grew up in the 1990s and despite my love for this holiday, my parents refused to let me, or my youngest siblings dress up. The ridiculous and laughable reason they told us back then was that because they "didn't believe in it" due to their religious beliefs. I never understood what their beliefs had to do with us wanting to be in costume. Having Halloween parties at school? Acceptable. Wanting to dress up for the special day and go trick-or-treating with the other children? Not a chance in hell. It was the double standard made by our parents that prevented us from experiencing that one part of our childhoods. Besides, you could only have one childhood. Fast forward to 2010 and I was attending Job Corps. On Halloween that year, which would be the first Halloween I celebrated as an adult, I went as Superman. There was a party at the gym, and we had a great time. To close out the evening, there was a Halloween costume contest, and cash prizes were awarded for first, second, and third place. Yours truly won the top prize, which was $50, while the others won $25 for second, and $15 for third. The victory was my very first costume contest win. Since then, I've dressed up for Halloween and have won five costume contests overall. I recently revealed my Halloween costume for this year. You can check out the full story of it in the link down below. 2026 will be my 17th year celebrating Halloween.

Savannah Bananas: 2026 Halloween Costume Reveal
Spooky season has officially arrived. I love fall because of two reasons: the colorful leaves falling off of trees and Halloween. After much anticipation, here's my costume for this year. I'm on a two-year company-wide Halloween costume contest winning streak at aiming for three wins in a row. When I told one of my coworkers that I was sticking with the baseball theme for Halloween, he was surprised. I explained to him that I was on a winning streak and determined to win this year. By the way, I didn't explicitly tell him that I was going as a Savannah Banana for Halloween. The one clue I could give him was something yellow.

Fantasy Cast for The Challenge: Rivals 4
The Challenge just brought Cutthroat back, and it needs to bring back some other iconic themes. We saw Rivals on the 5th season of All-Stars but we haven't seen it on a flagship season in a while. It's time for it to return, and let's make it male/male and female/female teams just like Rivals I and Rivals II.

The Cosplays That Never Made Their Convention Debuts
Last month, I returned to TikTok for the first time since February. I posted a video explaining to everyone that I would no longer post any cosplay videos or share any cosplay throwback videos on the platform. However, I would be available if anyone needs some cosplay advice or tips. I've done over 20 cosplays with some of them I debuted at cons. I'm still enjoying my post-cosplay retirement life and have no plans to return to the craft anytime soon. The following cosplays on this list are those that I came close to debuting online and at cons. Note, I won't be featuring mashup cosplays, as that will be reserved for a future story.
