My Review of "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew"
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew was a little bit of an unexpected surprise of 2024. I didn't hear too much about it and I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. The last few Star Wars shows seemed to be going downhill and I was really losing interest in watching another Star Wars franchised TV show. Fortunately, I gave this one a chance and it redeemed my interest for the time being.

Girl Haunts Boy
Netflix has been really liberal with their content lately. And some of it is actually good. It's all pretty mid to low budget but they do have some gems in the mass of content that they keep putting out. Among them is Girl Haunts Boy, it is an absolutely adorable romantic comedy/buddy film that does a really great job of exploring themes of grief and loneliness.

Timecut
When Timecut was released I remember the internet being very angry about the year 2003 being used for a couple of reasons. The obvious one is that they didn't actually get the aesthetic right and those of us that were there could see the big gaping flaws in the production. The other reason being that we don’t like feeling old and 2003 was not that long ago, so fuck you a little bit.

Chidiya Udd Review: Is watching it for free also the right decision?
So look there is a new web series on the MX Player platform and after a long time when I saw its trailer, yes I was excited about the MX Player web series, so I saw this series whose name is Chidiya Udd and today we will dissect this web series and find out whether the bird has flown away or is trapped in a cage. Anyway, if we talk about the direct issue, then there is not much to tell; there are a total of 8 episodes in the series, and the story has not ended yet as usual. It is better if you do not watch this series with your family; if you have seen its trailer, then you must have an idea why. But the real question is that this series is available for free, but still, its content is so powerful that despite being available for free, you should go and watch it. I will answer this question, but before that, I will give you an idea of the story without spoiling anything. Simple story. There is a girl who runs away to Mumbai, and after coming there, she gets caught in the business of a red light area. There is a guy named Qadir, played by Jackie Shroff, who is handling all the things there. So, will things become easy for the girl who has run away? Will she be able to get a new life, or will this bird that has come here die after getting caught in the underworld gang war going on in the red-light area? To find out the answer, you will have to watch this series. But to be honest, if we talk about the series, I mean, how was my experience after watching it? If I talk about it, I will just say that I did not enjoy it. The expectations that I had, that I would get to see a great crime drama, a gangster drama, I did not get to see anything like that. The problem with this series is that its writing is not strong at all. There is no real peak moment or OP moment that keeps you hooked on the series or keeps you excited. According to me, the story of this series, its world or the characters of that world will be liked only by those people who have not yet seen many series based on crime dramas like Mirzapur, etc. Mirzapur, if you don't know which bird came by name, maybe you might like this MX Player's series Chidiya Udd. Now that this series is available for free, a large audience is going to watch it. Maybe people with maturity might like it, but I would not suggest a mature audience waste their time on it because there is no substance in the series, meaning it is useless. There were a few performances by the actors. I liked the flashback when the sequence started, and I liked the extended cameo of Jackie Shroff. Otherwise, there was nothing in the series.

Most Mediocre Movies of 2024
There were a lot of incredible films this year, there were also a lot of terrible films this year. But most movies filled the space in the middle. Not groundbreaking or award worthy, and not so terrible that you’ll never stop complaining about them. In fact most of the movies that came out this year were very good, they just weren't great. These are not the movies we are talking about today. Today we are talking about the films that are so mediocre you just forgot about them, or they were just a point or two away from being absolutely horrible or absolutely fantastic. These are the most mediocre movies of 2024, in no particular order.

The Watchers
At some point in last year's movie discussions we are going to have to talk about the sheer amount of nepo babies that were actually fantastic in movies. Because there were quite a few. But they were not just in them, they were making them. The Watchers is the directorial debut of Ishana Night Shymalan, yes M. Night Shymalan’s daughter. Her father produced the film and she both wrote and directed it. Now M. Night’s movies are rather hit or miss, and he often shits the bed in the third act, so is this a genetic trait? Or will his daughter actually follow through, let’s find out.
