My Review of "Gladiator"
Gladiator is an epic period piece that was released back in the year 2000. Watching this movie again brings back a flood of nostalgia and also reminded me as to why I loved this movie back then. Strangely enough, I think this movie really resonates to today's climate more so than back in the day. In that respect I think it really aged quite nicely.

Marielle SabbagPublished about a year ago in Geeks"AI Revolution: How Artificial Intelligence is Changing the World"
Definition of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think and learn like humans. It involves the development of computer systems that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence, such as understanding natural language, recognizing images and patterns, making decisions, and solving problems. AI can be divided into two main categories: narrow or weak AI, which is designed for a specific task, and general or strong AI, which has the ability to perform any intellectual task that a human can. The field of AI research began in the 1950s and has since grown to encompass a wide range of sub-disciplines, including machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and robotics.
Doctor Who: Brave New Town Review
One of the most arresting elements of the Eighth Doctor Adventures was its ability to bring new life to old Doctor Who monsters. Across four seasons, the production team brought back the Daleks, the Cybermen, the Zygons, Morbius, the Krynoids, the Wirrn, the Metebelis Spiders, the Monk and the Ice Warriors to face the Doctor and Lucie. However, one of the most interesting - and, potentially, daring - old foes to come back were the Autons, in 2008's "Brave New World". Being mostly silent automatons of the Nestene Consciousness may not make them an obvious choice to bring back on audio, so it makes what writer Jonathan Clements does with them here even more interesting. And, as a result, this becomes one of the most novel Eighth Doctor Adventures, despite its use of a traditional element in its storytelling. It really pushes how far you can take the Autons, as well as telling a genuinely intriguing mystery story into the bargain. It all adds up to one of the stronger instalments of one of the most well-regarded series from Big Finish.

What a treat! As this year's Divisional Playoff came to a close, Lifetime came through with their latest thriller, The Plot to Kill My Mother, which starts with a young woman, Teresa Russo, ending up in Witness Protection after surviving an attack from her lover, Lorenzo Bruno. Not only does she have to uproot her life, she has to uproot her baby daughter's as well, meaning that all she would ever know is the new life that Teresa had to live in for her own safety. 21 years pass, and the now-grown Elena Russo, is informed by Teresa that she had to go visit her ailing mother back at her hometown, though all that does is draw questions from Elena--questions that Teresa couldn't answer.

Ayush VermaPublished about a year ago in GeeksThe Fableman's
The Fableman’s was one of my most anticipated films of 2022, I think that the Covid lockdown did something to filmmakers and the industry as whole. We were all inside for a year and that caused an outpouring of art from authors and musicians but filmmakers were stuck. So after we were all released and allowed back into the world there was all this pent up creative energy from filmmakers and that gave us a wave of films about art and film and love. That wave gave us movies like Armageddon Time, Babylon and yes, The Fableman’s.

The Broker represents peak independent cinema, it seemed to slip through the cracks of 2022. In a year that was filled with very loud movies, The Broker slips through with a beautiful story and delicate character work that is rare to see in a world of superheroes and spies.
Alexandrea CallaghanPublished about a year ago in GeeksRepresentation for Representations Sake
Something that has begun to change the scape of Hollywood is the push for representation. Both on the screen and behind the camera, on the small screen and the big screen more roles are being created for, portrayed by and written by marginalized groups. Allowing for a richer and more realistic reflection of the world around us. However some of these pushes for representation are simply bad…and they teach us that representation for representation's sake is not a good thing.
Alexandrea CallaghanPublished about a year ago in GeeksRanking Films of 2022
Okay so 2022 ended up being an amazing year for movies, I’ve decided to rank them, now this list isn’t actually in any particular order. All movies with the same number rating are tied with each other. Most movies that got a half a point off because of rewatchability, that said you have to be in a very specific moon to rewatch those films and therefore they got a slightly lower ranking. Now for context the only films in history that I have ever given a 10/10 are the Lord of the Rings films (all of them), and The Princess Bride. Now all I think this list proves is that I need to raise my standards, which is really saying something because I am very specific and very judgy about my movies, so I am in fact going to be a little harsher going into 2023.
