One of the most recent phenomena is the reaction toward fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (or "MCU") for being defensive toward the criticism it has received from directors like Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola. It is common for people to lambast these fans for "being dramatic" or "taking things too personally." However when we look at things from an empathic lens, its easy to understand where this resentment comes from. Why is there only one month for Black history when there are twelve months in a year? Never makes much sense to me. Who cares if it is not February anymore? Black authors should be celebrated all of the time. In this article, I want to focus on those black creators who have recently worked on Marvel materials. Most comic book fans are familiar with writer Ta-Nehisi Coates, and artists Sanford Greene and Brian Stelfreeze, who have all worked on Black Panther. Ch-21 Carina flinched, shutting her eyes. But the sword never came close to her and she heard Gertrude gasp in pain. The fairy and wolf starred in stunned surprise as Klara sunk the sword into Gertrude’s torso. Gertrude grunted in anger and surprise then threw Klara back with a blast of dark magic. “Pathetic, worthless girl!” she drew out the sword and it disappeared, no wound left in her body.

Eternals vs GotG 2
So I watched and was disappointed by the Eternals and to be quite honest all I was thinking about through a good portion of that movie was “Guardians of the galaxy did this so much better” because like it or not we’ve already been introduced to the concept of eternals and we’ve already seen a family like dynamic when they all have different motivations and moral compasses. We’ve already seen relationships within a family like a unit develop and play out and we’ve seen it sone so much better then the underdeveloped mess that the eternals gave us.

Secret X-Men #1
Here’s my issue with X-men comics as of late: there’s too much going on. Sue me…but also stay with me here. With so many series branching from X-men and the co-mingling of Devil’s Reign, there’s just too much story going on for me and I simply can’t keep up. What’s even worse is that the comics all inform each other, making it so that even if you religiously read every issue in a run, you will still get treated like a newbie comic virgin that gets backhanded by a deep reference into obscure canonical events from branching series. This happens and it infuriates me. I can’t afford to buy everything that gets put out pertaining to the world of X-men! Just write a single, fun storyline that doesn’t have as many layers as a club sandwich does.
