Money and Privilege has not stopped Prince Harry's pain
Bucking the system Prince Harry is the second son of Princess Diana and King Charles and was born into a life of privilege. His new book "Spare" has everyone talking and jaws dropped when he said he killed 25 Afghan soldiers and thought of them as chess pieces and not human. I see something very different going on with the Duke of Sussex which is that he is in a lot of pain.

This reflection contains spoilers Last week, I trotted off lightheartedly to the cinema to see Darren Aronofsky’s The Whale, knowing little about it beyond that Brendan Fraser’s performance as Charlie had received critical acclaim. I left the cinema shaking, with tears streaming down my face, and spent the rest of the evening replaying as much of it as I could remember, as well as poring over professional reviews and comment threads on various websites. A story of grief, love, self-loathing and addiction and a sliver of hope, The Whale is an intensely intimate and tragic glimpse into the complicated nuances of being human, the ripple effects of our choices, and the impacts we have on each other’s lives. I have read criticisms that this film reduces Charlie to little more than his size, and that the film is too dramatic. I disagree. Charlie’s size is of critical importance as it is a direct result of his crippling addiction, and the reasons for his addiction are what have propelled him to the place where we find him now: dying, and desperate to reconnect with his angry, estranged daughter. A story of this nature is inherently difficult to watch and necessarily contains dramatic elements, and Aronofsky skilfully plunges us into these realities and forces us to uncomfortably find elements of ourselves in the characters onscreen.

2022 may be over but I am still thinking about the most emotionally impactful movie of the past year, which deserves its own review and analysis. Likely to be nominated for a few Academy Awards at the least an Oscar for Best Actor nomination for Brendan Fraser, ‘The Whale’ is a powerful film about a man’s desire to try to right past wrongs in some way before it is too late. ‘The Whale’, directed by director Darren Aronofsky shows us how low someone can go when things go wrong in life but also how our lowest lows can also bring out the best of us when it is most important.
Reviewing "Disenchanted" and its "Wicked Good" Quartet of Villainesses
I remember how excited I was when the news broke that a sequel to the 2007 film, Enchanted, was coming. It was in May of 2022 that the sequel, Disenchanted, became official, and it was announced for a November premiere date on Disney+. Finally, on New Year's Eve, right before I watched the College Football Playoff games, I hit Disney+ to watch this. I had seen the first film 15 years ago at the theater, and I remember enjoying it so much, so I figured that the sequel would totally shine as well, and lo and behold, I was right.

Mario Cristobal
mario cristobal Entertaining, yes, but not necessarily a particularly accurate depiction. Mario is quite the portly fellow with a heavy bottom but that’s about all that’s left of the original cartoon character. At the same time, the series is starting to move into more adult territory and he’s probably not the one to represent the young men and women of today. Then again, I wouldn’t want to take the chance of a hypothetical non-fantasy world reaping the flesh of my young, artistic soul in a disturbing fashion. Luckily, there are still plenty of other possibilities as this fictitious Super Mario to choose from.
