Post Apocalyptic Moulds™
Return Again Anew
Important note: The Post Apocalyptic Moulds are a fully licensed and trademarked property of my art publishing house and are a part of the Microbiology Themed Art Like Objects line. These works are valued in the ones to tens of dollars and regularly grace the walls of Hollywood bums, F-listers, and assorted nobodies the world over. In addition to their popularity with the masses my works have recieved critical praise from around the art world. One top art critic has said "...of all the artists globally working in the mold art form, Dr. Whathisname is for sure at least in the top fifteen or so and his line of microbiology themed art like objects is destined to be remembered by several of his colleagues at work who thought some of the stuff he did was kind of cute or at least sort of interesting." High praise indeed Mr. art critic, high praise indeed.
It has been quite some time since I had done any new artwork with my old friend's the post-apocalyptic moulds. I have been decorating my house in Mexico with various art pieces and dedcided to dedicate one full wall in one room just outside my office to all Post Apocalyptic Mold™ related art. It is a fairly big wall, and I am kind of sick and tired of looking at all my old PA mould art so I decided to self commision a few new ones for this special occassion.
First up is a brand new movie poster which features the PA Moulds classic origin story line which includes the by now very well known opening sentence "In an unknown future, in a place far from earth." along with the almost cliche at this point tag line "Strange new beings came to life. Not moulds, not machines, but parts of each." Still gives me goosebumps reading those even after all these years. Still can't believe Disney-Pixar passed on this opportunity of a lifetime to obtain an exclusive license to this franchise ready property. In any case they still have my number and I am happy to take their call at any time. Of course, given the increase in popularity of the PA Moulds since our last discussions my price has gone up quite a bit as well.
I also prepared a series of movie poster variants. Collectors go nuts for these and I regularly sell them for as much as 25-50 cents per pk of 100.
Of course the movie posters are super popular but by far my most popular works are those that take the post apocalyptic moulds and insert them into other well known, or not so well known stories or genres or movies or whatever. A couple examples of classics and redone classics are below.
First up my homage to J.R.R. Tolkien's classic Lord of the Rings Series featuring the black captain of the Ringwraiths as a Post Apocalyptic Mold. Not sure how Gandalf would feel about this development but surely Sauron would be pleased.
And next up my tribute to H.P. Lovecraft. I hesitate these days to mention Howard because of his virulently racist beliefs but I still really love much of his writings and he was very much an inspiration for me when I first started writing.
Finally a few old classics cleaned up for republication.
And so concludes this walk down memory lane. Is how I would have ended this post if not for Vocal's absurd, ridiculous, and downright stupid 600 word count minimum policy for publication. As I am only at five hundred and eighty six words I need to pad my word count a bit first in order to make that dumbest idea I have ever seen word count minimum. Nice. There you have it. Stupid Vocal and their stupid ideas. Ugh.
