Nikolas, Ava, Spencer drama heats up on General Hospital.

When General Hospital begins airing new episodes there will be a lot of tension at Wyndamere. Nikolas will have his hands full with his wife and his son. At some poin Obrecht will be released from prison and may return to live with “Heir Cassadine.” liesel will really keep things interesting on the island.Spencer was a cute, mischievous child who had grown from a seven year old into a teenager. His voice is much deeper and he is taller. His childhood antics however are no longer entertaining now that he is 13. Spencer has absolutely no right to give his father any type of ultimatum, but that is exactly what he did. The young heir to the Cassadine fortune demanded that his dad divorce Ava or he would not come home from boarding school. No child should ever be telling his parent what to do. Now Nikolas is stick with a decision and viewers are split over what is going to happen.

Some fans believe Nikolas should dump Ava, let her have his fortune and choose his son. Others say he should try to find a way to have it all. A third group believe Nava should admit they love each other and remain married and Spencer just deal with it. There were sparks flying between Ava and her prince prior to Valentin shooting Nikolas. When the prince came back from the dead there were a few scenes where it looked like he and Ava might give in to their feelings. Instead of developing this couple, General Hospital has had Nik spending time with Liz, and Ava leNing on Franco. The rumor mill says the soaps will begin producing new episodes in mid June but it may be too late for Nava as their golden moments were probably lost. There will be social distancing rules in place and romantic scenes will not be what they were BC? ( before coronavirus.)

The passion that was simmering between Ava and her prince could have exploded by now the writers drug things out. Now, because of COVID-19 their love scenes might be put on hold. There will be a number of changes moving forward on all the soaps. The California Governor has given a green light for taping to resume on June 12.The daytime drama programs will first have to hire COVID-19 specialists who will monitor taping sessions to make sure everyone is in compliance. It will more than likely be August before new episodes appear.

Should Spencer come back to Port Charles, someone should set this child straight. It is not his place to give orders to his dad. Some General Hospital viewers have been eagerly waiting for Nava to declare their love, but the writers don’t seem to know what to do with them. The couple seem to be keeping each other at arms length and at a stand still. It’s boring watching Franco and Liz reaching out to their best friends instead of each other. The writers seem to not know what to do with either couple and most viewers don’t want to see them switch partners.

Perhaps during the time off since March, the powers that be may have come up with some interesting material for all four of these characters. Fans of Nicholas Bechtel really want to see him back in Genoa City, but not as a brooding teen trying to control his father’s life. There is so much more that could be done to develop this character as well as the other teens. Joss, Cameron, Dev, and Trina seem to be in a holding pattern as well.

Spencer should be with Joslyn and her group enjoying teenage fun. Emma should return to stay with grandma Emma and perhaps a summer romance would ensue. Nikolas should not have his adult life determined by his teenage son. Let these two have their own separate lives. GH should explore all the layers of the relationship between Nikolas and Ava. They are both egotistical, greedy, self serving and could play off of each other very well. They also have a chemistry that definitely needs to be explored.

Ava Jerome and Nikolas Cassadine have so much potential together but first, Liz, Franco, and Spencer need to get out of the way. Valentin is now focusing on taking over ELQ so there are no enemies lying in wait, unless Ryan Chamberlain starts giving them trouble. Who knows what may be coming their way now that the show has the green light to begin taping new episodes. Ava just might end up with her man and win over Spencer as well. Thus far not one adult has called Spencer on his behavior. Perhaps his grandma Laura might talk some sense into him.
