Name Of Thrones: Are These The Titles For The Final 3 Episodes Of 'Game Of Thrones'?

What is in a name? Well, if a girl has no name, it is pretty useless. HBO's Game of Thrones is usually cryptic with its episode titles, but this season they have been somewhat self-explanatory. The first episode, "The Red Woman," was all about everyone's favorite G.I.L.F. Melisandre, while Episode 5, "The Door," was literally about a man called Hodor holding a door. We already know that next week's Episode 7 is titled "The Broken Man" — that is more of a head-scratcher.

Many are calling for the return of a certain chicken-loving character, but we will have to wait and see who dies/revives this week. Now, news has surfaced about the final three episodes and some rather spoilery titles, so what does this tell us about the rest of the season?

According to Spoiler TV and translated from a German Sky Network website, it looks like these could be the titles for the final three episodes. Warning: Take this with a pinch of salt, as HBO has yet to confirm or deny. But going on this being gospel, what could the titles mean?

Season 6, Episode 8: “Niemand” (“No One”)

Season 6, Episode 9: “Die Schlacht der Bastarde” (“The Battle of the Bastards”)

Season 6, Episode 10: “Die Winde des Winters” (“The Winds of Winter”)

"No One" must be a nod to Arya Stark and hopefully a chance to deliver her from her stick-waving days at the House of Black and White. Pictures have shown a knife battle between Arya and the Waif, in which the plucky Stark girl will probably be the successor. Once she has finished sunning herself in Bravos, it's about time Arya rejoined the rest of the Stark clan, all of whom are trapped up North in Westeros. It is doubtful that Arya will make it back to Winterfell for supper, that is if there is any Winterfell left — meaning:

Batten down the hatches, Boltons! Traditionally Episode 9 is the big hitter, which would make sense, given the title of the episode: "The Battle of the Bastards." This is when Jon Snow finally tries to reclaim Winterfell. The name came from what fans had nicknamed the upcoming Bolton/Stark war, but somewhere down the line it seems to have stuck. Personally I would have preferred "Bastard Bowl," but alas.

Way back when, pictures showed a huge set and lots of extras filming for weeks in Northern Ireland.

Cue the casualties.

Finally, Episode 10 — normally a more somber affair, but going off of last year's episode "Mother's Mercy," I wouldn't bet on it. The title seems to be a bit of a dig at George R.R. Martin by stealing the name from his (forever delayed) sixth novel from the A Song of Ice and Fire saga. With Season 6 being rather ice heavy, "The Winds of Winter" means we will probably be seeing more of the Night's King.

Interestingly the tale that Old Nan used to tell Bran in Winterfell was that the Night's King is actually a Stark himself. While this a story we have all but forgotten, could "The season of the Starks" be the perfect time to revisit that little nugget? Now that Bran Stark is marked by the White Walkers, wherever he goes, they go. Bran is becoming more trouble than he is worth, so a trip to the Wall from the young Stark boy could finally bring it down — just imagine the finale carnage.

Secondly, "The Winds of Winter" could be a red herring — forget the ice, we might have a large dose of fire. Wherever Daenerys is heading (atop Drogon), we should expect some sort of action toward the end of the season. In the books there is still the second siege of Meereen to contend with, where Greyjoy forces arrive at the final moment to either help (or hinder) Dany's plight.

Despite Ser Barristan Selmy (deceased) leading the attack and Victarion Greyjoy (doesn't exist) arriving, Daenerys is absent from that particular part of the books. We will eventually get some form of the siege and we know that Euron Greyjoy is heading for the Queen of Dragons, but at the moment he seems a little tied up with hunting his niece and nephew!

Spoilery enough for you? While we are unsure of the actual titles, what we are sure of is that there is sure to be some sort of twist — especially in the last two episodes. Maybe it will be that Mr. Martin finally lets us know when he will release The Winds of Winter book — but i wouldn't hold my breath!
