Most Underrated Bikini Babes

Pop culture appearances of swimsuits that get passed over by other lists.

There are numerous lists out there of the most iconic swimsuits of all time, in fact I recently did an analysis of them. It seems likely that there is some plagiarism going on as many of the lists are so similar. And is the one of the most iconic swimsuit scenes in film history really from Die Another Day?

Here I will be rounding up pop culture appearances of women looking great in swimsuits--none of whom appear on those other "most iconic" lists.

Nicolette Scorsese from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Christmas Vacation is notable as an extremely rare comedy sequel that's actually funny. So much so that it still gets frequent viewings during the holiday season. In one memorable scene Clark Griswold's fantasies of owning a pool and attractive shopgirl Mary (Scorsese) colorfully combine.

Donna Feldman is the face of Visa Black Card

Go head, watch the commercial and then tell me I'm wrong.

Kathy Ireland on Sports Illustrated

Sure Ireland appeared in films but that's not what we remember her for--one would be featured on MST3K. She was famous for being in 13 consecutive Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues including 3 covers. SI would declare her 1989 appearance the 'Greatest Cover Of All Time'.

Theda Bara as Cleopatra

Decades before the concept of the bikini, Bara sported this daringly revealing outfit in the 1917 film Cleopatra, possibly the greatest film ever destroyed. Her look was so iconic that 40 years later Marilyn Monroe would cosplay as Bara:

Ariel from The Little Mermaid

Sure she's a cartoon, but its hard to imagine a more iconic bikini than Ariel's purple clam shells. 30+ years after the film's release Ariel's face continues to move mountains of merchandise, including bikinis.

Diana, Princess of Wales

The People's Princess dominated the tabloids for a decade and no one thought to include her on one of these lists? This is her on the South of France, 1985.

Sarah Underwood combines Earth porn with the regular type

Can't decide if you want decide if you want to see majestic natural landscapes or a scantily clad super model frolicking about? Well with Underwood's Instagram, you don't have to choose! Bonus: if you're looking for a low key watch experience, check out her Cabinland videos.

Rachel Hunter from the Stacy's Mom music video.

The song was an ode to MILFs, and New Zealand supermodel Rachel Hunter, 48, played the role perfectly.

Red Sonja cosplayers like Angie Arrow

If you're very lucky, when you go to a comic book convention, there will be a cosplayer there daring enough to go as the She-Devil with a Sword, as Angie Arrow is above. Donning the iron bikini in public is not for the feint of heart--but these women do it.

Holly Valance, Devon Aoki, Jaime Pressly and Sarah Carter in DOA: Dead or Alive

The world's deadliest assassins will enter. Only the best will survive. LOL. This 2006 video game movie with lots of bikinis and zero blood is a guilty pleasure if there ever was one.

Shyla Foxx in Cruis'n USA

Speaking of video games, if you were ever in an arcade in the 90's there was a memorable reward for beating Cruis'n USA - seeing Shyla Foxx as the literal trophy girl.

Cara Delevingne in Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets

There are a lot of Sci-Fi movies out there, but few recent big budget original pieces. One woefully underappreciated recent film was Valerian. Laureline (Delevingne) is enjoying a virtual beach in one scene, then after she's told to prepare for a mission, she changes... to a different bikini. The movie drops Laureline's backstory from the comics: that she was originally peasant girl from 11th century France.

Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer in Top Gun

Any respectable swimsuit list needs a token male entry. And really, how can you top the... er... energy... of some type... in the Top Gun volleyball scene?

Milla Jovovich in The Fifth Element

Are the thermal bands worn by "perfect being" Leeloo (Jovovich) in The Fifth Element technically a swimsuit? Do I technically care?
