Moira Mactaggert Is Back for X-Men Apocalypse! Plus: Dazzler Joining Apocalypse?
Yet another character returns for X-Men Apocalypse: this time it's Moira Mactaggert.
After last week's confirmation of the young versions of Jean Grey, Scott Summers, and Ororo Munroe, it's no surprise that we have another confirmation of another character, this time a character who has already appeared in the franchise.
Simon Kinberg, the producer and writer for X-Men: Apocalypse, said Mactaggert is:
". . . a significant character in the movie. We ended First Class with Charles having wiped portions of her memory of her experience with the X-Men. They are, essentially, strangers to her when she meets them."
So we know there will be a reintroduction between her and the X-Men. Speaking about the film itself, here's what Kinberg had to say:
"[Apocalypse] is the completion of the first arcs of Charles, Eric, Raven, and Hank, who are essentially our main characters. They’re such young actors and young characters, so there’s a lot more story to tell. But as a first phase of their lives, there is this feeling of closure by the end of the movie."
So looks like after Apocalypse, the current actors (James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Holt), will be reduced to the roles of their predecessors, with the teen versions taking center stage.
With us knowing the film is set in the 1980s, Dazzler seemed like a cool addition. Here's what he had to say:
“Could happen. We’re certainly looking at mutants that would fit into the period.”
