This horror psycho 2019 flick starring Academy Award Winner Octavia Spencer as Sue Ann, a middle-aged woman who parties with high schoolers until she becomes a psycho stalker out seeking vengeance.

The film opens with divorcee Erica and her teenage daughter Maggie (played by Juliette Lewis and Diana Silvers) moving into the town where Erica used to live. Maggie starts her new school while her mother Erica starts a new job at a casino bar she meets Stu, nice and gay, (played by Dominic Burgess). Maggie meets Genie in an electric wheelchair having trouble, helps her and befriends Haley, Darrell, and Chaz, Haley's boyfriend (played by McKaley Miller, Dante Brown, Gianni Paolo), and Andy (played by Corey Fogelmanis) whom Maggie falls for and later finds out he is Ben Hawkins's son. The whole gang including Maggie head to the liquor store however they are underage so one of them has to ask strangers to buy them liquor unfortunately it all fails until they turn to Maggie, the new kid, asking strangers outside of the store to buy liquor until she meets Sue Ann (played by Octavia Spencer) dressed in a nurse's attire and walking a one-legged dog. When I saw that, I said "poor baby". She begs Sue Ann to buy them liquor at first she refuses until she sees Andy and his van recognizing his van. She agrees to buy them booze and gives it to them. After giving them booze, she would contact Andy's dad Ben Hawkins (played by Luke Evans) who was getting "busy" with Mercedes (played by Missi Pyle) in the car snitching his son's whereabouts. Sue Ann's boss Dr. Brooks (played by Allison Janney) would be cruel, bossy, and bitchy towards Sue Ann. They encounter Sue Ann again buying them liquor again, travel back to her house to give her the money but she then invites them to her house in the basement just to drink and chill for the rest of the night. Darrell gave her the nickname "Ma" asking if she had any pizza rolls. At the kitchen, Sue Ann stalks the teens on their social media pages. In the next scene, Sue Ann drops off liquor at Ben's van outside of their school and sends them each a video message. The teens head to Ma's for obvious reasons. Next scene, at night, outside of Sue Ann's house, everything is packed all the teens from their school. Everybody is in Sue Ann's basement, the basement looks set up but alright, Sue Ann is dressed casually for the party trying to fit in. She was accepting her nickname "Ma". Sue Ann aka Ma and the rest of the teens at the party were dancing to "Funkytown". Usually, teen movies in the modern era would dance like EDM music or modern music. Throughout the scenes, we would look at flashbacks of young Sue Ann in high school during the 80s era where we see young Ben Hawkins, young Mercedes, and young Erica, inviting them to a get-together where teens were smoking and drinking beer, Ben and Sue Ann would close until he gives her a note to meet him in the closet. Until it turns out it wasn't Ben in the closet making her the laughingstock in school. I felt bad for Sue Ann. The satisfying and funny part about this film is when Sue Ann sees Mercedes jogging and runs her over with her truck. Then she plays on the radio Earth, Wind, & Fire "September". It was "hi, Mercedes" and "bye, Mercedes". At the vet, Ben meets Sue Ann, after all these years, he has a slight conversation with her, drops off his pet at the vet, and invites her to the bar for a drink. At the house, Maggie and Haley sneak into Ma's house after she sees one of their classmate's charm bracelet, trying to find her grandmother's ring and Maggie's earrings that were missing. The two find old photos of Sue Ann, Erica, Mercedes, and Ben, also find out that Genie is Ma's daughter and she has been staying at home because of her "illness". In the bar scene, Sue Ann and Ben talk about the reunions and the last time they have seen each other until he shows her the tracking device that has tracked Andy's van on his whereabouts including Sue Ann's house. He threatened Sue Ann and even called her a "loser" still the same Ben who was cruel to her.

Ben arrives at Sue Ann's house believing that Andy is at her house but it was a trick. Ma has Ben's tracking device and hits Ben with a shot to make him sleep. Ben is stripped naked with a towel covering his privates lying tied up in Sue Ann's bed with an IV connected to Louie's blood. Sue Ann pulls a knife about to cut off his penis instead she transfuses Louie's blood into Ben, slashes his wrist, and leaves him to bleed out and die. It wasn't that cruel just pretty much facts about Ben after all he tricked her into liking her after all these years. Maggie finds her friends are still hanging out at Ma's basement including Andy until they somehow pass out possibly drugged after Ma sent her a video message that her boo Andy hanging in the basement after he promised Maggie not to hang out there. Maggie tries to find Genie until she finds Ben's body in Sue Ann's bedroom and Sue Ann behind her gives a shot putting her to sleep.

In the end, the basement is in flames after Genie knocks Sue Ann down the stairs, the teens are awake and try to escape until Erica and Stu open the basement door and rescue them. Ercia apologizes to Sue Ann and tries to stop from harming Genie from killing her until Maggie stabs Sue Ann freeing Genie but it doesn't end there. The weirdest end of all is when Sue Ann gets up the stairs from the burning basement, not even running to the door like the door was right there she could have run out of there but instead she stares at the escaped teens including her daughter Genie. Sue Ann goes up the stairs to her room while the house is in flames and lies next to Ben's corpse.

The film is plain weird as fuck, not so scary at all but it was dark and dramatic. I admired Octavia's performance as Sue Ann. However, I do have sympathy for Sue Ann's character after she was tricked by Ben in the worst way honestly she should've sought revenge on them instead of hanging with teenagers feeding them booze. Also, the teens were dumb as f to trust a middle-aged woman and go into her place didn't their parents teach them not to go to a stranger's house but whatever. Plus, I didn't know that teens like to dance to 80s music in the modern era. Chaz and Haley don't even act like a couple just Maggie and Andy.
