The internet may seem eternal but viral fame is only temporary. For many of these kids, dominance over the digital world was short-lived. What happened to many of the kids that got famous online? We are going to take a moment to check out and see what these web celebrities are doing right now:

1. Tay Zonday 'Chocolate Rain'

Tay's disturbing, yet somewhat catchy, song 'Chocolate Rain' would have definitely hit the charts in a multi-platinum fashion if it would have been released in 2017. But it still rose to fame as soon as it made its debut online in 2007. Zonday's rich voice and nerdy mannerisms caused his video to go viral and become a hit on YouTube although it didn't immediately take off as soon as it was released. It was streaming on the Web for about three months before somebody that must've appreciated it posted the video to Digg. After it started to spread to other alternative websites, it started to become a national hit. This helped him to make small appearances on television along with appearing on film and even on a commercial for Dr. Pepper called 'Cherry Chocolate Rain.' He recently was one of the voices on the mini-series, 'Transformers: Titans Return.'

2. The New Canon Rock-Matt Rach

Matt Rach

In 2006, seventeen year old Matt Rach stunned a bunch of YouTube listeners as he played an original cover on his guitar of his well-known version of 'Pachelbel's Cannon.' This spawned many people who came on to the scene with their own videos of his imitation. He later told a news source that he never thought that his video would become that successful. The few channel subscribers that he had insisted he play the piece from their requests and he decided to go ahead and do it but in his own style.

He never expected that kind of appreciation and support from it. So, since then, he's been sharing all kinds of music since that time and has released many cover albums. He even released one in 2017. He writes and composes his own music with a band called 'The Atmospheres.'

3. Rosanna Pansino

It was the year 2011 and Rosanna was trying to figure out what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. So, she decided one day to do what most of us only dream about doing. She decided to turn on the camera and post a YouTube video of her creating and making a video game themed cake, a character from the Nintendo franchise. The how-to video became a sudden hit so several other videos suddenly followed. Six years later, she has become one of YouTube's treasured young bakers. She has over six million channel subscribers and makes annually over $2.5 million dollars. he has even written one of her very own cookbooks through Atria Books called, 'The Nerdy Nummies Cookbook.'

4. Sophia Grace and Rosie

Sophia Grace and Rosie

Sophia Grace and Rosie hit it off as YouTube stars when they were just little girls as Sophie sang Nicki Minaj's 'Super Bass' while Rosie danced along. This video was discovered by Ellen Degeneres and she thought it would be awesome to invite the two little British girls to her show. The interview itself set the stage for the pair to become stars. Since that day, they have interviewed well-known celebrities and had even starred in their own movie called, 'Sophia Grace & Rosie's Royal Adventure.'

Since then, they continue to appear on more videos and Sophie had appeared as a judge in the 1st season of 'Toy Box'.

5. Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber's mom originally uploaded video of Justin's singing and playing instruments for friends and family to see. Little did she know that the videos would pick up a large following and soon after, Scooter Braun whom is now his manager spotted him at school and in three years time, Justin became a famous recording artist that many young fans know and love today. He is distantly related to Celine Dion (so am I; my aunt had it checked and documented in our family tree).

A new star on YouTube is born every day. Who's going to be the next video celebrity that will rise to the top?
