Chad and James Patrick Stuart

Actor James Patrick Stuart portrays villain Valentin Cassadine on the ABC daytime drama General Hospital. He recently announced the death of his beloved father Chad Stuart. If the name sounds familiar it's because along with Jeremy Clyde, Chad Stewart performed as the 1960s British duo Chad and Jeremy. They had hits with "Yesterday's Gone" and "A Summer Song". Both can be heard in the following video. Clyde and Jeremy were part of what was called the British Invasion when English acts like the Beatles began having hit songs in America.

The elder Stewart is said to have fallen and later died from pneumonia. It has been emphasized that his death is not related to COVID-19. There have been no reports related to how or where he fell. It is unfortunate but all too common for older adults who have fallen, to be diagnosed with pneumonia and then pass away. I was told by a doctor that this is because while lying in the bed, the lungs cannot expand as they do when we are sitting upright or walking. This causes a fluid buildup and leads to pneumonia and in many cases death.

David Stuart Chadwick was born on 10 December 1941 in Windermere, Westmorland. After Chad and Jeremy broke up in 1968 they got back together in the 1980s and again in 2000 to perform on tour. Jeremy Clyde became an actor while Chad Stuart remained active in the music business. The duo continue to have many fans to this day as is noted on their Facebook page. James Patrick Stuart is said to have been very close to his father and fans are sending him their love, support and condolences.

As Valentin Cassadine, Stuart has shown himself to be a ruthless businessman even to the point of murder. He also recently has been displaying a softer side. Fans have always seen this in regard to his daughter Charlotte but lately, Valentin has displayed amazing compassion towards Peter August as well as Anna Devane. He and Anna also share the secret that Alex is reallyPeter's mother and at some point, this will blow up in their faces. The fact that Anna is sharing secrets with a man who is not her fiance Dr. Hamilton Finn could stop the wedding or cause trouble afterwards.

The former WSB agent has been watching Dante Falconeri and know something is up with him. They have no idea that Sonny's son is back in Port Charles on a mission, to expose Peter as a murderer. They also don't know that Liesl Obrecht is behind Dante's sudden reappearance in town. Oddly, Valentin is not trying to obtain sole custody of Charlotte since her mother Lulu was sent to a long-term care facility. There also has been no mention of how he is handling ELQ since taking over. Tracy Quartermaine is back in town for the holidays but she has not said anything about trying to get her father's company back in the hands of family members.

It seems that General Hospital has put a lot of storylines on the back burner to showcase Cyrus Renault and all the damage he is doing to Port Charles. Cyrus is the reason that Valentin's daughter Charlotte is without her mother. Lulu sustained brain injuries due to the explosion at the Floating Rib restaurant where Cyrus had Julian Jerome set off a bomb. Valentin blew up a boat with Cassandra pierce inside of it so his hands are not clean either. Stay tuned to General Hospital to find out what James Patrick Stuart's character will be up to next.
