Jake Spencer: Reasons why he should be emotionally unstable

General Hospital: Jake's identity crisis.

Jake Spencer ( Hudson West) is a troubled teen on General Hospital where the actor first appeared on April 25, 2016, when he was only 8. Fans have enjoyed watching the character grow up and now he is involved in a meatier storyline. Some fans believe that at the root of his issues is an identity crisis.

Jake is the result of a one-night stand his mother had with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) who is presumed dead. Jake later became close to his stepdad Franco Baldwin ((Roger Howarth) and was traumatized when he was murdered. Lucky is the bio dad of Jake's younger brother Aiden Spencer ( Enzo De Angelis) but Lucky has not spent quality time with either child. Jake carries the last name of a man who is not his dad and both his real father and the stepdad he loved are dead. Now his mom is involved with another man whom General Hospital spoilers suggest that Jake resents. There is also the fact that Jake became close to Drew Cain (Cameron Matthison) when everyone believed he was Jason.

The Quartermaine and Cassadine

Jason is the son of Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon) and his mistress Susan Morgan. After a head injury due to an accident, Jason legally changed his last name to Morgan. Jake is an heir to the Q dynasty and should bear that name. This is not part of the current situation but will surely cause problems down the road.

Something that might be having an effect on Jake is the time he spent being held captive by Helena Cassadine ((Constance Towers) when Jake was hit by Luke Spencer(Anthony Geary) vehicle and was thought to be dead and buried. .
