Here's the deal, if you like pretty much everything, there's a show that has it all. Do you like sagas? Fantasy? Drama? Comedy and romance? Animation/Anime? Does representation matter to you? Or maybe just good old fire-breathing dragons? All these things and more go into the epic fantasy adventure The Dragon Prince a Netflix Original Series.

The main characters are two brothers, Callum and Ezran, who are human princes of one of the human kingdoms named Katolis. Along with an assassin Moonshadow elf named Rayla. The three of them team up when they discover the dragon prince egg that was thought to have been destroyed by the humans has survived, and its continued survival and return to its mother the dragon queen in Xadia could mean an end to the wars and bring peace between the human lands and Xadia at last. Together they fight with the common goal: to end the cycle of revenge and violence between the two realms.

If you like The Lord of The Rings movies or even just the amazing books by J.R.R. Tolkien then you'll like The Dragon Prince. Both have impossible journeys, powerful friendships, and crazed power-hungry villains with monstrous armies. So if heart-wrenching stories, magical elves, and epic battles and war set in a fantasy world is your thing, this is a good one to check out.

Netflix had an interesting animation some years back called LEGO Elves: Secrets of Elvendale. Decent show, but entirely aimed at kids. Perhaps the kids who saw that before are old enough to take on something bigger now. An epic fantasy that would be fantastic in any medium, including a live-action series. If you like The Shannara Chronicles, then you should like the story The Dragon Prince has to tell.

Is Japanese anime your thing? The Dragon Prince has similar animation styles in appearance and character expressive behaviors in comedic and romantic moments, much like Avatar, The Last Airbender in that and other ways. Or if you like animation in general and graphic novels, you'll appreciate this show for that alone. The details are almost extreme on nearly all the dragons in the series. Noticeably the villains grow in animation details the more wicked they become by use of increased use of dark magic. Though an unsettling sight, you've got to appreciate the emphasis made in moments or characters throughout the show like this.

As a show, The Dragon Prince simply flows. The plot is solid and we're just along for the ride as we see how much more there is to this amazing fantasy world. A fantasy world full of incredible hope in dark times. Humanity is not separated by their differences there, even the different human kingdoms are united and peaceful with each other. It is a wonderful thing to behold, especially in a world with medieval fantasy concepts.

Women are equal in this fantasy story. Strong warrior women who are also mothers, sisters, wives, and queens. These women are admired by all without any hidden sinister views toward them. There are also racially blended families, absent and step-parent scenarios, sign language, and LGBTQ+ characters. Also, the show talks about serious social problems of our own world just reflected outside of humanity itself, as well as abusive familial situations. And of course, the ultimate and continuous battle between good and evil, seeing it on all sides, and even within each person. It's all there!

The Dragon Prince is a great show for kids as well as adults. With three seasons so far, and more to come, add this to your list of game-changing shows that will aid the fight for changing the ingrained stigmas of yesterday's centuries-old hatred.
