GH fans debate the relevance of Jason Morgan's return to Port Charles

Port Charles has changed since Jason was last in town

Now that the excitement has worn off the initial announcement confirming Steve Burton is returning to General Hospital fans are beginning to ponder what it means. Before his disappearance, Jason was beginning a relationship with Britt Westborn (Kelly Thiebaud) but she has now passed away. A lot has changed in Port Charles and some viewers wonder if Stone Cold will fit in.

Jason will return to learn that the woman he was falling in love with has died thanks to Heather Webber (Alley Mills) being the Hook Killer and that will be a huge blow. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is married to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) is now Carly Spencer and dating Jason's twin Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). Dex Heller (Evan Hoffler) is Sonny's right-hand man and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) is dating Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zampragna).

There will be awkwardness for everyone involved especially Danny and Jake

There is sure to be some awkwardness with Carly now sleeping with Drew and almost consummating her marriage with his brother who was Sonny's best friend. There has been no news related to how Jason will be found or whether or not he will have amnesia again. He and Sonny will have a lot to work through and he returns after the death of Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman) which has stunned all of Port Charles.

General Hospital has had 2 amnesia stories recently with Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) and Esme Prince (Avery Kristan Pohl), Surely GH would not have Jason go through all of that again or would they?

There is also the issue of Jason's sons who have grown up without their father. Jake Spencer (Hudson West) whose mother is Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Danny Morgan (Zakary Risinger) whose mother is Sam. Danny's sister Scout is already having issues with her dad Drew who at first was missing and then went to jail. Now Sam will have 2 children dealing with daddy issues as they all adjust to Jason's return.

GH fans have questions

Questions General Hospital fans have been asking are where has Jason been all this time and who has been helping him. If he was injured during the cave-in who assisted in his getting out and why has he not contacted his family? GH fans have already dealt with the amnesia story too many times and there was hi season of being Patient 6.

It was initially believed Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) was holding him somewhere but now Victor and some of his henchmen are dead. General Hospital cannot just have Jason show up after 2 years without some type of explanation so fans should brace themselves that history might repeat.

On social media, some GH fans are saying Jason is no longer relevant and will not fit into the current Port Charles society. The writers are probably trying to work all of this out to the satisfaction of the viewers and hopefully what they propose will be believable.

Who has been keeping watch over Jason for 2 years?

Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) and Victor appear to be dead and gone for real so they will not have been holding Jason captive unless the storyline changes. The only villains on the scene are whoever shot at Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) or Sonny.

Could this have been on the orders of Selina Wu and could she have something to do with Jason or is Cyrus Renault somehow involved Hopefully, in time some of these questions will be answered and it will all make sense.
