General Hospital: Wiley is recast

If you were watching General Hospital last week and thought Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos looked different it was not your imagination. The role of Wiley has yet again been recast and six-year-old Viron Weaver will now portray the son of Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Tate (Kathleen McMullen).

One thing that soap fans can count on to be constant is change. This is often true regarding children on daytime television as they are frequently replaced and or rapidly aged. One exception was Kimberly McCullough who portrayed Robin Scorpio on GH. She began playing the character from the age of 7 until close to 30 years later.

General Hospital: The evolution of Wiley

Twins Eric and Theodore Olson played Wiley from birth on July 30, 2018, until July 30, 2021. The Olson family moved out of the country and another set of twins Caleb and Kyler Ends stepped into the role. The Olson twins had previously played James West the son of Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and Nathan West (Ryan Paevy) in 2019. Weaver, the new Wiley is a young actor, who is known for Bear City 3 in 2016 and Fame-ish in 2020.

Wiley's backstory recently came out in court when Michael tried to keep Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) from getting out of jail on parole. The baby that Brad and Lucas Jones (Ryan Carn) adopted died of SIDs is the biological son of Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier). Michael told a heartfelt story of how Chloe gave his living baby to Brad and replaced his son Jonah with the dead baby boy.

Willow was the biological mother of the child that died so she thought that Brad and Lucas adopted her baby and that Wiley belonged to her. She has now grieved her son twice and is raising the little boy she loves with Michael. Wiley is only 3 but Viron Weaver is 6 so it looks like General Hospital is aging the character a little without SORAS. Now that Brad is out of jail some General Hospital fans believe he will eventually run into Wiley although he has promised to stay away.

Wiley Corinthos has a dysfunctional family

Some GH viewers are saying they believe Michael's son will end up in some type of danger and Brad will be the one to save his life. There is so much tension in Port Charles because of this little boy between those who say they love him. His paternal grandma Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) watched his mom Nelle die and tried to keep it a secret.

Wiley's maternal grandmother Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) kept his grandfather Sonny away from the family for 9 months when he had amnesia. Sonny shot and killed Wiley's true paternal grandfather AJ Quartermaine (Sean Kanan) and his great grandmother Monica Quartermaine still has hard feelings towards Sonny. A six-year-old Wiley is old enough to pay attention to what is going on around him and he will notice all the drama with his relatives.

Leo Falconeri ( Easton Rocket Sweda) is being adopted into the family by Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) and he is believed to be autistic. Bailey Quartermaine ( London and Jett Prinzo-Berendt) is not his blood cousin because she is actually Louise Jones the daughter of Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and Peter August (Wes Ramsey). Imagine the tension when it comes to light that Brooke Lynn Quartermaine was never really pregnant.

Congrats to Viron Weaver on his new role as Wiley Corinthos. Be on the lookout for General Hospital spoilers, breaking news, and updates related to the Quartermaine and Corinthos families.
