'General Hospital' may be putting Sam in a corner

Some GENERAL HOSPITAL fans are concerned with the future of Kelly Monaco's character Sam. The direction the storyline is taking her seems to be boxing her into a corner from which she may never return. Fans of the actress do not desire to see this happen but longtime viewers have observed this scenario play out on GH as well as the other daytime soaps.

Most recently this happened on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS with the characters of Theo and Lola. More than a year ago viewers began saying that these two would soon be out of Genoa City and now they both are. On GENERAL HOSPITAL fans watched in utter disbelief as Julian Jerome's storyline left no alternative but for the character to die, and he did. JaSam fans do not desire to see the end of their favorite couple or for Kelly Monaco to be written out of the show.

The first thing the writers did that upset GH viewers was to have Sam's parole officer state that she could not live in the same house with her son's father Next they had Sam break off her relationship with Jason in order to protect her children. Liz Weber's son Jake belongs to Jason but since Helena Cassadine died there has been mention of a threat to the boy because of his father.

GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers will remember that JaSam's son Danny was inside of the floating rib just before Julian set off the explosion. For a while, the boy was missing and they kept showing his hat that was found outside the building. The implication seemed to be that Danny might have been hurt or even killed when the bomb went off. Fortunately, Jason and his son were long gone before Mac's establishment blew up, but this situation was a factor in Sam's decision.

Last week on GENERAL HOSPITAL, Sam found the safehouse where Britt and Jason had been hiding. She also caught up with the duo while they were staying in a barn on the Cassadine property. Sam had fake passports in hand and assumed that she and Jason could drop Britt off somewhere and then she would get her former spouse to Canada. Jason shut her down and reminded Sam that she had opted out of this part of his life because of the children. He reminded her that she is on probation and should not risk going back to jail.

Earlier Carly had also put Sam in remembrance of her decision and refused to give her any information regarding the whereabouts of JaBritt. Now Sam is headed back to Port Charles while Dr. Westbourne has her passport and will be pretending that she and Jason are husband and wife. Spoilers have already teased that Jason and Britt will fall in love on this journey but it's not clear what will happen between Sam and Dante.

Detective Falconeri is now back working with the GCPD which is a conflict of interest with the life that Sam McCall Morgan has lived. Sam ditched Dante when she went to the safe house after promising to work with him, She later slashed his car tires in order to keep him from finding Jason and Britt in the Cassadine barn. It's not likely that Dante will give her a third time to betray him, but you never know.

While roadblocks are being placed in the way of a romantic connection between Dante and Sam, the road is being paved for Jason and Britt to fall in love. Some GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers are wondering what type of future Sam will have in Port Charles without Jason by her side, especially if nothing develops with Dante? Perhaps the writers have something wonderful planned down the road for the daughter of Alexis Davis and Julian Jerome. Who knows, perhaps at the end of it, all JaSam will get back together which will delight their fans.

Right now Sam is stuck in limbo without Jason, or even Carly to keep her updated. Her friendship with Dante may have run the course so what role would she play in the scheme of things in Port Charles? Who would Sam be associated with and is there another man that could be her love interest? The majority of GENERAL HOSPITAL fans believe that Lulu is going to recover and return to town and Dante will be waiting for her.

Sam and her sisters cannot forever be trying to micromanage Alexis and her addiction. Besides, Ms. Davis seems to be doing pretty well in Pentonville ad may even get back together with Shawn Butler. Roger Howarth is supposed to return to GENERAL HOSPITAL this week as a new character and Cameron Matheson will soon be on the cast of the ABC soap. It's possible that Sam might interact or fall for one of these men although unlikely. Be sure to stay tuned for updates related to Kelly Monaco and her alter ego. Sam could have a very bright future in Port Charles and then again, maybe not. Time will tell.
