Jeff Kober celebrates 68 years

Happy birthday to Jeff Kober who portrays Cyrus Renault on ABC's General Hospital. The actor recently celebrated a milestone with his 68th birthday on December 18. He has one child from his first marriage to Rhonda Talbot whom he married on February 4, 1989. They divorced and he married Kelly Cutrone on August 8, 1998. Kober's third and current wife is Adele Slaughter whom he wed on December 31, 2013. Kober is also a bass guitarist and a former member of The Walking Wounded.

Cyrus Renault has a change of heart

General Hospital fans enjoy seeing Kober although they do not necessarily like the things his character Cyrus has done. Viewers were excited that Renault has been back on the scene and making phone calls from jail but are not in agreement with his putting out a hit on his siblings Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and Martin Grey (Michael E Knight). Spoilers are now saying that the writers have put a new twist on the story of the mob boss and that he has found religion.

Those who watch General Hospital have seen Cyrus order hits and actually murder one of his henchmen. There does not seem to be any redeemable qualities in this man but he will try to convince his sister that he has seen the light. Cyrus will tell Laura that he had a near-death experience and now wants to live his life for the greater good. Laura will not know how to receive this information and will tread carefully where her big brother is concerned.

General Hospital: Laura will be skeptical

Laura will find out this news after visiting her sibling in jail and she more than likely will share the news with Martin. Perhaps together they can figure out if Cyrus is being honest or running a scam. Hopefully, Renault will not have joined some type of cult while in prison because General Hospital viewers had enough of that with Dawn of Day and Shiloh ( Coby Ryan Mclaughlin).

Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard will no doubt be brought up to speed as Cyrus has been a threat to his family. Only a few weeks back Renault called Sonny from prison to taunt him about the death of Jason. According to Soaps.com the actor recently spoke to Soap Opera Digest and shed some light on his character's current situation. He says that Cyrus will try to convince Laura that he did not put out a hit on her and Martin and that he needs them alive. Kober also said that he is the one who came up with the idea of Cyrus finding God and it looks like the powers that be agreed it was a good plot.

General Hospital: A mystery may be in the works

Some General Hospital fans were skeptical of Cyrus being guilty because all he ever seemed to want was the love of his sister. As evil as he was there were viewers who did not believe he was the reason that Martin and Laura went to the safe house. If he is telling the truth then there is a mystery brewing and fans will want to know who really did put out a hit on Renault's sister and brother.

Could Cyrus have enemies that tried to kill Laura and Martin to get to him or was he behind the attempts on their lives and now lying about it? Time will tell whether or not his new path is real or if he is still as crooked as ever. Be on the lookout for updates and breaking news related to General Hospital and Renault's alleged religious experience. Stay tuned to find out if his desire to live on the right side of the law is heartfelt or if he is up to his old tricks again.
