James Patrick Stuart has been busy

There is an update regarding a fan-favorite character on General Hospital. Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) has been MIA in the midst of all the action that has taken place recently in Port Charles. Things have been going at such a fast pace that viewers may not have had time to process how long he has been off-screen.

Stuart has just wrapped up filming 8 episodes of a new Disney+ comedy titled VILLAINS OF VALLEYVIEW. Fans of the actor have been expressing how much they miss him and now he assures everyone that Valentin will return sometime in March. Some viewers were concerned that Stuart would be leaving General Hospital for the Disney job but he has assured everyone this is not the case.

The last time anyone saw Mr. Cassadine he was recovering from being attacked by his own father only he does not know it. Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessey) knocked out his son and placed him in the trunk of a car. He realized Valentin had figured out that Bailey Quartermaine and Louise Jones (London Selzer) were one and the same and wanted to keep him quiet. It was all to no avail as Peter August (Wes Ramsey) outsmarted Victor.

Where is Valentin now?

Valentin was found in an alley and taken to the hospital where he was reunited with his daughter Charlotte Cassadine (Amelie McLain). Peter is now dead and Valentin must be the only Port Charles resident who has not yet been told and expressed his joy. He should be out of the hospital by now and fans will be hoping that he and Ana Devane (Finola Hughes) can get their relationship on track.

Anna and Laura Collins ( Genie Francis) along with Sam McCall ( Kelly Monaco) are keeping close tabs on Victor but so far do not have anything incriminating on him. General Hospital viewers are wondering if when the dust settles Valentin will figure out that his dad was behind his recent dilemma.

What does the future hold for Vanna?

This should lead to some great drama down the road and the father and son could end up estranged. Now that the truth about Bailey is out that chapter in Valentin's life is over and he probably will no longer be trying to get even with Brooke Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Selzer).

Vanna fans feel that it is long past time for Anna and Valentin to give in to passion and have a real romantic relationship. They have been dancing around this issue for quite some time and General Hospital viewers say they need to make a decision.

Things seem to be at a stalemate regarding ELQ so Valentin's biggest drama moving forward will more than likely be related to his father. Victor is hiding a lot of secrets and his son does not really trust him. There could also be some issues with Charlotte who will soon be a teenager and is very headstrong.

The future for Valentin

Valentin was conceived in 2009 by General Hospital head writer Robert Guza Jr. but plans fell through until 2016. it was at this time that Stuart, an alum of All My Children was hired for the role. Initially, he was a bad guy who shot Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Columba) and tried to take the inheritance of his great-nephew Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chaves).

Valentin conspired with Sash Gilmore (Sophia Mattson) to deceive Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) but over time he has endeared himself to the General Hospital fans. Be on the lookout for updates related to the date that Stuart will return to the ABC soap and what lies in store for him from this point on.
