General Hospital (GH): Jason and Sonny could part ways after Mike regains his memory

On General Hospital it will soon be a year since Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) have seen each other. Spoilers have given no timeline for when "Mike" will regain his memory and return to Port Charles. Some viewers believe it might be during the 2021 Nurses Ball which Britt Westbourne(Kelly Thiebaud said would take place this fall. Whenever he comes home everything will be different, especially his relationship with his enforcer.

Since Sonny's death, Jason has been trying to help Carly(Laura Wright) run the Corinthos organization and now they are planning to get married. Things have changed between the two and now Carly wants a real marriage. When Sonny returns the five families will be watching closely to see if he immediately takes charge. After having amnesia Sonny might not be able to immediately go back to business as usual. Depending on how far things have gone between Jarly, it's possible Jason and Sonny will not be able to reconcile eir differences.

Jason and Carly faking a marriage is one thing but when he tried to kiss her everything changed. Now Carly wants a real marriage and "Mike" has been falling for Nina. This is one big mess and confused emotions on every hand. General Hospital viewers are wondering what Sonny's mental state will be when he first returns home? Will, he even be capable of running his business and if not how will the five families respond? Everyone will wonder who is in charge and this could cause friction between Sonny and Jason.

Add to this the tension related to Carly and these two friends may never be the same. Even if Carly and Jason do no sleep together Sonny will be able to detect how close they have grown. Nothing will ever be the same again and perhaps this is what the writers intended. The dynamic between Jason, Carly, and Sonny has been the same for two decades and it is time things change.

A number of viewers wanted Jason and Britt to make it and are disappointed that this may never happen. Those who watch General Hospital are overwhelmingly against Sonny and Nina as well as Jason and Carly and are hoping it all blows over soon. The writers have set up a situation where chaos is in the midst and a lot of emotions must be sorted out. Nina loves Mike who is smitten with her but when Sonny emerges things will be different. Nina kept him from his family and she will pay a price for that. Jason and Carly have been doing things as a duo and it will be awkward when Sonny returns.

Spoilers tease that Cyrus Renault and the five families might make a move before the wedding which will no doubt affect the way things are headed in the future. There are so many variables to this storyline that there is no way things can ever be the way they were. On Tuesday's episode of General Hospital, Jason and Dante had a heart to heart about Sonny and Dante said his father would approve of Jason marrying Carly. Simultaneously, Monica was telling Carly that everyone could always see that she and Jason belonged together. Meanwhile, Mike and Nina were declaring their love for one another.

The residents of Port Charles are not aware that Sonny is alive but General Hospital viewers are. This is why watching this play out is difficult. Fans of the ABC soap realize that for all the sentiment that Jason and Dante were displaying for Sonny they will find it difficult to adjust once he returns to town.
