GH fans want the writers heads on a platter

Thursday on General Hospital Drew Cain verbally assaulted Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) to the point that viewers are calling for the writers to be fired. When Drew found out that Nina called the SEC he told her if she were a man he would hit her and fans were livid. This was a tough scene to watch but it could be part of a bigger plan. Before calling for the writers heads on a platter viewers should consider something.

This may have been the beginning of the storyline where Drew's Pentonville experience causes him to go off the rails. He is already arguing with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) because he wants to force their daughter Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante) to attend a private school and the girl does not desire to attend.

There may be more going on with Drew than viewers realize

The climate in America today is so tense and there are a growing number of women reporting that they have been abused mentally, physically and or sexually it's normal for fans to react the way they did but this was totally out of character for Drew who is always the good guy. Also, it has been mentioned by several spoilers that Drew's Pentonville experience more than likely when he was beaten in the shower would cause him to havea change in behavior.

General Hospital executives probably assumed the fans remembered this and thought viewers would notice Drew's over-the-top reaction and wonder what was going on. Instead, fans are calling for the heads of the writing team and that reaction probably was not anticipated. A lot took place with these characters within a few episodes so there is much to unpack.

Carly has a lot on her plate

Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) found out Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman) passed away. Zeman died from cancer last May but the ABC soap is only now addressing her death in the storyline. Drew had been attempting to comfort Carly and Nina showed up as usual with bad timing.

Carly was furious and fans say if she had threatened Nina or even hit her it would not have been so bad. Everyone knows Ms. Spencer hates the woman her ex-husband married and was expecting her to become volatile. No one, however, was looking for Drew to behave this way.

In addition at some point, Carly and Drew will be told that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) knew the secret and made a business deal over the situation. Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) and Ava Jerome (Maura West) also knew but this news may or may not be revealed.

Could Carlson reunite?

On a good note, Wright has revealed that Sonny will show up to tell Carly he knows Bobbie died and will attempt to leave right away. She will call his name and the two will hug and cry in each other's arms. Wright said this would be Carly letting Sonny know that she realizes he understands how she feels and will not be a romantic scene.

If, however, Drew's behavior continues to spiral Carly might lean on Sonny more than she realizes. Nina may soon be out of the picture and Carlson might eventually find their way back to one another. In the meantime, disgruntled viewers should take a deep breath and consider that there is more to the story of Drew and there might be a medical reason he yelled at Nina.

Be on the lookout for General Hospital updates and spoilers that reveal what is really going on with Drew Cain and if he needs medical help and or therapy to deal with the situation.
