Jeff Kober has lost weight

Jeff Kober fans notice a difference

General Hospital fans are expressing concern about Jeff Kober (Cyrus Renault) who seems to have had a significant weight loss. You can see the difference in the two images above which is why viewers have taken notice. There is nothing online to suggest the actor is ill so perhaps he just decided to shed a few pounds.

Kober joined the cast of GH in February 2020 and has portrayed the evil Cyrus off and on during the past 4 years. It has been within the past 12 months that fans have observed the different look. General Hospital viewers are not being mean-spirited but only asking on social media what has taken place because they admire the actor although his character leaves much to be desired.

Is Renault's conversion the real deal?

Kober, 70 who is a man of faith in real time said he asked ABC executives if he could portray Cyrus as religious and they agreed. During the past year, the character cut his long flowing hair and has begun quoting the Bible to everyone in Port Charles he comes in contact with. He is trying to obtain followers in his faith and even has a radio show where he shares his beliefs.

So far PC residents have expressed nothing but disdain for the allegedly reformed criminal. He continues to harass his sister Laura Collins (Genie Francis) practically begging to be taken into her life but she is leery of his "change. Spoilers tease that Anna Devane (FinolaHughes) is going to reach out to Cyrus this week but it's not clear whether this is about his radio show or not.

Some General Hospital fans say they don't like the way Cyrus is using his new faith because it is antagonizing Port Charles residents. Others say it shows religious people in a bad light because Cyrus almost always has a Bible in hand. Not knowing if he has changed is what is troubling most GH viewers. Some who watch the ABC soap suspect religion is a cover and Renault could be behind some of the bad things that are happening in Port Charles.

Is Kober ill or just actively losing a few pounds?

There is nothing online indicating that Jeff Kober has been ill or was actively losing weight. The issue is not addressed anywhere but many fans desire to know what is going 9on. The actor is 70 and seems in pretty good shape for his age. Some people gain weight when they get older and others find themselves getting smaller. Perhaps this is just a weight shift as Kober ages and nothing more.

Celebrities have the right to keep their personal lives and off-screen business private. When they come on our TV screens and into our homes every week viewers are going to notice big changes and ask questions. Cutting his long locks may also have altered the way Kober's face looks and some GH fans suggested he may have had plastic surgery.

Can Cyrus be trusted?

Not one person believes Renault is telling the truth about his transformation and his sincerity was doubted at the memorial service for Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chaves). Laura continues to be rude to him and gives him looks as if she wants to wipe her brother off the face of the earth.

Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) prevented Cyrus from seeing his great-nephew Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay. If he were to go on the warpath it would be his family he would seek revenge on first. The bottom line is Jeff Kober is still in his role and Cyrus is still on screen on General Hospital. He continues to rub everyone the wrong way so concerned fans should take comfort in that. Unless an illness is revealed fans should consider that all is well.
