Is this it for Carly and Drew?

General Hospital fans always knew that Carly Spencer's (Laura (Wright) relationship with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) was not going to last. A majority of those who watch the ABC soap assumed that eventually, Carlson would reunite and Drew's heart would be broken. When Brennan (Charled Measure) showed up at Bobbie's cafe and began flirting with Carly fans picked up on the chemistry and thought she would give in to temptation and cheat on Drew.

Some GH viewers have always expected Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to play a role in the break-up between Drew and Carly and this may indeed soon become a factor because a serious issue between the couple is about to come to a head and blow up.

Drew's mental status is an issue

Drew has been showing signs of an altered personality ever since he was beaten in Pentonville prison. He has been edgy, disagreeing with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) about their daughter Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante), and determined to get revenge on Nina Reeves ( Cynthia Watros). Everyone is telling him he has not been his usual forgiving self but Drew is still acting out on occasions.

Drew will soon have something to process that might be his breaking point. He is about to find out what Carly has been doing behind his back and he will no doubt become enraged that he had no idea what was happening. He may also be troubled that the woman he loves did not ask his input about her actions.

Carly's recent actions may lead to trouble

Carly has always been independent and has done whatever she desires. She is also fiercely loyal to Sonny and everyone knows it. She once ran his organization so she knows a thing or two and is not afraid of mob business. Carly and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duel) hired Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) to protect Sonny after Carly found out Michael had originally hired Dex to take his father down. Brick (Stephen A Smith) suspected Dex might be the person who was double-crossing Sonny and did some digging.

Brick found out that Dex had two large deposits in an offshore account and Sonny decided Dex was the traitor. He took him to the Pine Barrens where there are dead bodies buried and was about to execute him until Brick showed up with Carly. The former Mrs. Corinthos explained that Dex was not a traitor and that she and Michale were responsible for his large deposits.

Drew had no idea the woman he loves has been making deals with Michael and Dex and hanging out in the area where the mobsters bury their dead. In his current state of mind, Drew will probably hit the roof over the situation. He is already furious that Michael withheld the information that Nina was the one who turned him and Carly in, to the SCC and now more secrets will come to light.

Carly will not back down

Carly is going to stand by her decisions and support Sonny even if they do not reunite as a couple. Perhaps it might have been better if Drew had caught Carlson in bed because this situation is so elaborate it might be unforgivable in his eyes. If this does not immediately break up Drew and Carly it will add to the tension that is already there.

Carly's fierce loyalty to Sonny and keeping secrets from Drew might be teh final nail in their relationship. Whatever happens between these two fans are already saying that Sonny will forgive Michael and Carly at some point. Stay tuned to General Hospital to find out how this plays out.
