The annual General Hospital Nurses Ball started on Tuesday and there were immediate differences from past events. There were only 3 women in evening gowns and they were Nina, Carly, and Lucy who were working the Red Carpet. Everyone else wore a white Tshirt with a 2020 gala message inscribed. They also wore jeans and they looked really different on the Red Carpet. The focus was HIV but this year there was also a lot of emphasis on front line workers without specifically mentioning the coronavirus. The 2020 ball is set up like a telethon where viewers call in their donations.

Everyone else came in wearing white Nurses Ball Tshirts and jeans. Liz was working and Franco arrived alone while Lulu entered with Dustin. Jordan entered hanging on the arms of Curtis which let viewers know that the show was not observing social distancing protocol. Spinelli came with Sam and Peter gave maxi a kiss on the cheek as they walked the Red carpet. Other characters were in close proximity and touching so if this was a camera trick it was a good one. On Thursday as Curtis was at the hospital trying to figure out what his wife was up to, she was meeting with Taggert who is certifiably alive.

The singing nurses are always a highlight but thus far they have been a no show this year. Epiphany, Felix, and Amy came on stage and were announced as nurses who were going to sing, but they did not. The scene then went to Maxie who was not aware her mic was on and told Lulu she had to find the right time to tell Peter she is pregnant. Anna, Robert, Mack, Spinelli and Mr. August were all able to hear her as were Lucy Coe, everyone in the Metro Court, and all of Port Charles. Meanwhile, Trina rebuffed the attempt Curtis made to mend fences and Portia is angry that Jordan gave Cyrus the greenlight to run Port Charles.

Mr. Renault even took the Mic and promised everyone that he was going to do good things. Epiphany, however, warned Felix and Amy that things are about to become really bad. Later Jordan admitted that Epiphany helped slow down the heart rate of arcus so he would seem as though he really died. The first actual entertainment came after 30 minutes and was Trina, Joss, and Cameron singing. Trina admitted to Curtis that her feelings for him are what came between her and Taggert, but her former husband thought it was all the hours he spent working. back on stage Jax and Nina danced to "She." It's pretty clear the social distancing is over because they were all over each other.

Fans who were hoping for the ball gowns and more entertainment were naturally disappointed but the revelations of Taggert being alive and Peter finding out he is expecting a baby were fun. Spinelli had been about to tell Maximista that Nelle confirmed that Peter was behind Drew's death and working with Shiloh but the baby news will give him pause. Previews for Thursday and Friday don't say much about the ball but there will surely be more surprises in store. Chase is supposed to see Willow and Michael together and have a hard time dealing with it.

The newlyweds are actually falling for each other and Carly even said she would not be opposed to their staying together. One thing that might please fans is that Liz and Franco will figure out that Ava wants her spouse to cheat with Liz, and Nicolas wants Ava to seduce Franco. The Cassadines are playing games so the marriage will end, but they may just find out they are really in love.
