Gen V

Episode 6

Okay so last week in Gen V we dealt with our main characters being mind wiped and not knowing what was going on. They also just found out that Cate is the one behind their memory lapses. Andre is very hurt (as he should be) and Cate seems to have switched sides so that she stands with her friends now.

Cate is super emotionally distraught. I mean obviously she was emotionally manipulated into messing with her friends emotions and now Andre thinks that she was behind Luke’s psychotic break. Cate is gonna be all isolated and alone which is just such a bad state for a superpowered being to be in. But revealing all of her group's memories to them causes her to weaken. Cate is clearly fucked up from using her powers so much.

I will say one thing that I love very much about this show is that they are very clear with the drawbacks of using your powers. Whether they are emotional or physical the show is very clear with the fact that if you overuse your powers there will be consequences.

Cate is so broken that she transports her friends into her head. And we get a guest appearance from Soldier Boy and it's fantastic. Damn he was just the best addition to The Boys universe. Jensen Ackles is amazing.

Emma found Sam! And then they snogged and I couldn’t be happier about it. I truly love them so much. They are so cute. Hey Emma I love you girl, maybe sex with the unstable boy who can’t control his powers is a bad idea…

Cate and Andre were sleeping together BEFORE Luke died? That is ummm bad. And definitely supports the idea that she is the one that caused Luke’s psychotic break. Because intentionally or unintentionally she is responsible for his breakdown. How many times did she wipe his memory? How many times did she let him remember?

Jordan also has a memory while they are trapped in Cate’s mind and is now taking some emotional responsibility for Brink and Luke’s death.

Cate knew everything from the start and she was in fact responsible for Luke’s break and his death and we are moving on to Marie. Because everyone needs to be a little emotionally fucked up by the end of this episode. Marie steps into the bathroom where she killed both of her parents. And she is confronted with her sister and her grief. Marie is the one that gets Cate to snap back into reality a little bit. The grief is literally killing her and Cate wants to give up. But Andre kind of emotionally snaps and gets her to wake them all up.

Sam wants to kill her but Emma manages to calm him down so that he lets her go. They find out that the Dean is at the core of it all so now that dumbass human dean has a bunch of pissed off kid supes on her ass. And the virus that they developed in the woods managed to kill a supe. So we now have a virus that can kill supes. She is clearly operating on her own because Vought wants to monetize supes; they definitely don’t want them dead.

I am curious as to how any mention of that is going to play out in season 4 of The Boys. Now of course that ultimately depends on how this season evolves and concludes and when exactly The Boys season 4 takes place. We don’t know exactly when season 4 will be picking up from. But no matter what this show is heating up, that was episode 6 of 8 so we are entering the home stretch here.
