Friends Reunion Isn't a Series New Episode

It's a cast reunion, not a new original episode with Phoebe, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Ross, and Joey.

After seventeen years, all six actors of Friends are together in front of the cameras in Stage 24, where the tv series was filmed, at Warner Bros in Los Angeles, CA. Lisa Kudrow, Jenifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Mathew Perry, and David Schwimmer visit the past, reading scripts from the show, and revisiting memories. An interview was made by The CBS Late Late Night Show host James Corden to be part of the special.

HBO Max will premiere the show on May 27th. In a trailer released days ago, the six friends play the scene where Monica and Rachel lose their apartment to Chandler and Joey in a game answering questions about themselves. But the Reunion is not about new episodes of the tv show.

In a statement, HBO Max explains, "Lastly, to avoid any misunderstanding about what this special is, we want to make it very clear this is not a new original episode of the series. The cast will be appearing as themselves, not as their beloved characters". The American Harper's Bazar magazine, says "The main cast will be reunited, revisit the set, have surprises, and share behind the scenes footage.'

Special Guests

The television sitcom aired on NBC from 1994 to 2004, lasting ten seasons. But almost twenty years after it, at least ten network and streaming services are still presenting the series.

The Reunion also brings back Maggie Wheeler and Tom Selleck, the unmistakable Janice and Dr. Richard. Special guests like Reese Witherspoon (Rachel's sister), David Beckham, Justin Bieber, and superfan Lady Gaga are in Friends Reunion.

The main cast reunited for two days to film the non-scripted celebration, according to People's Magazine. Also, feature what the six stars said of the Reunion and what the characters would be doing today.

"It's funny when we do get together. It's like no time has passed," says LeBlanc, 53. "We pick up right where we left off."

"It was kind of melancholy, I guess. Right?" asks LeBlanc. Kudrow, 57, agrees: "Yeah, emotional."

For Kudrow, Pheobe "is living in Connecticut with Mike and their kids, and she's in charge of the arts program for the school," the actress says. "And just ... the advocate for her kids because they're different like she was."

Chandler "would be a wonderful father," says Perry, 51. "And a wonderful comedy writer."

LeBlanc says Joey "would have opened a chain of sandwich shops." Adds Perry: "And eaten all the sandwiches."

As for Ross, aside from "playin' with the bones" as a paleontologist, Schwimmer, 54, says "he would've invested in Joey's sandwich shop and lost a lot of his savings for his kids." "dinosaur-themed sandwich shop," adds LeBlanc. "Bronto-burger."

"I always just feel like Monica would be doing something competitively with other mothers and trying to outdo them," she says. "Whether it's the bake sale at school or something. I mean, she'd be so annoying. She'd be at the head of the PTA or something."

According to US Magazine, HBO Max's chief content officer Kevin Reilly said in February. "Guess you could call this 'The One Where They Get Back Together." "I became aware of Friends when it was in the very early stages of development and then had the opportunity to work on the series many years later and have delighted in seeing it catch on with viewers generation after generation."

Fans worldwide are waiting a long time for this moment. The Coronavirus pandemic delayed the filming process as the Reunion should be released in 2020. The wait is almost ended. It'll be emotional to watch the 6 Friends together again, for sure.
