Eric Braeden Has Cameo in movie with 50 Cents and Oshay Jackson Jr.

Eric Braeden, who portrays business mogul Victor Newman, on The Young and the Restless is showing himself to be a very busy man at 79 years of age. Y&R is currently on hiatus but Braden continues to keep busy. He is often on social media defending his cast mates from hateful viewers and is also very outspoken regarding the treatment of some of the actors on the CBS daytime drama by the powers that be. Recently Braeden has been moonlighting and hanging out with a younger crowd that includes rappers. The actor was working on a project that happens to be a family affair . and has been hanging out with some young rappers. Soaps She Knows says EricBraeden was excited to announce that he has a cameo in the Netflix film Den of Thieves, which debuted on May 1.

According to Soaps.com the popular daytime drama veteran’s son Christian Gudagast directed the movie. Eric Braeden was born Hans Jorg Gudegast on April 3, 1941 in Germany . He changed his name when he cane to America and began his acting career. Both his son and his wife Dale use the given family name. Eric and Dale have been married since 1966. Christian Gudegast graduated in 1992 from UCLA Film School. His thesis film, "Shadow Box", won the Best Student film award. Braeden’s son initially began his career as a rap music-video director. Perhaps this is why he is utilizing two rappers in the Netflix film, which also stars his wife Natasha.

Christian Gudagast’s on screen writing career began in 1993, after he sold his first script, "Black Ocean" to Oliver Stone. The script was co-written with Christian’s former partner Paul Scheuring. Gudegast is also credited with writing the screenplay for Den of Thieves which focuses on a thief who plans a bank robbery and becomes trapped between two sets of criminals. Starring in the movie are Gerard Butler (P.S. I Love You, Olympus Has Fallen), Pablo Schreiber (The Manchurian Candidate, Lords of Dogtown), rap artist/actor 50 Cent (Spy, Real Stee Pablo Schreiber, (Lords of Dogtown) )Gerard Butler, (PS I Love you) rapper 50 Cent, and O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Out Of Compton) who is the son of rapper/actor Ice Cube.

Like Christian Gudagast, Oshay Jackson Jr. is proving himself to be an Apple that did not fall far from the tree. Both are talented in their own right and not relying on the merits of their famous fathers. Ice Cube, whose real name is O’shay Jackson Sr. was a member of the controversial rap group NWA and began his acting career in the movie Boys in the Hood. Both Ice Cube and Eri Braeden have said publicly that they are proud of the accomplishments of their sons. Eric Braeden originated the role of Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless in 1980, and recently celebrated 40 years on the show. The soap vet is however, no stranger to films. In 2008, he starred in a Civil War drama titled The Man Who Came Back.

Eric Braeden also portrayed John Jacob Astor IV in the remake of the movie Titanic. In his younger days Braeden had many roles on television and in movies. He was in Gunsmoke. The Rat Patrol, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo, and Escape from the Planet of the Apes. He also penned his autobiography, I’ll Be Damned a few years back. The Young and the Restless is currently airing classic episodes because taping is on hiatus. Two of the flash back shows were the the first two weddings between Victor and Nikki. Right now on Y&R, Victor just told his son Adam that he killed a man at age 11. Adam thought his father was the murderer and attempted to blackmail him.

Victor was trying to protect his youngest son but Adam does not realize it yet. The two men may eventually realize they are more alike than they are different and come to terms with each other. Perhaps this is why they get along like oil and water.
