She begins to see the world in a different way, and becomes drawn to the figure in the cloak. Over time, she realizes that she is in love with him, but she still doesn't understand why he chose her or what he wants from her.

As she tries to piece together the mystery of her husband, she discovers that he is not what he seems. The young woman is torn between her love for him and her fear of what he may be. Despite her reservations, she finds herself becoming more and more involved in his world, and begins to understand the true meaning of immortality.

This series is a thrilling and emotional journey through the complexities of love, life, and death. The stunning visuals and haunting music create a captivating atmosphere that will leave you on the edge of your seat. Whether you're a fan of romance, drama, or mystery, this series has something for everyone. Get ready to be swept away by the tale of a young woman caught between two worlds and the immortal who changed her life forever.

An omniscient voice begins to explain the origins of the Goblin, revealing that touching an object with human blood is one way of becoming one. This creature exists in the world, but is unable to fully integrate with it. The voice belongs to an elderly woman. She expresses her dissatisfaction with the costume department for making her wear a distasteful old mask. A young girl listening to the old woman's story laughs, which irritates the elderly woman. The young girl comments on the sad fate of a Goblin, who must find a bride in order to die, but has lived an immortal life. The young woman shares her own heart-wrenching love story, of being left behind. As she leaves, she is drawn to a beautiful jade ring in the old woman's wares. The old woman warns her to pray for mercy, as something may be coming for her.

The scene then shifts to Paris, 1968.

A stylish man, Kim Shin, impeccably dressed in a plaid suit, waits outside a building. A young boy, sporting bruises on his face, rushes out. Kim Shin intercepts the boy and encourages him not to run, but rather confront his stepfather and demand to be treated with respect. The boy questions how the man knows all this. Kim Shin advises the boy to seek support from his mother and stop self-harming. As the stepfather emerges, Kim Shin strategically places a flower pot in his path, causing the man to trip and fall to the ground, clutching his ribs. Kim Shin instructs the boy on answering a quiz question correctly and walks away, leaving the boy in awe of the mysterious man who knew so much, yet revealed so little.

Flashback to Kim Shin's past...

Goblin

Kim Shin was once a fearless soldier, excelling in hand-to-hand combat with his sword. In the midst of battle, he faces the enemy leader, both men bloodied from the intense fight. In a bold move, Kim Shin hops on a horse, giving chase, and ultimately striking down his opponent with his sword. The long locks of hair only add to his handsome and fearsome presence.

Victorious General Kim Shin arrives at the palace, but the greeting is not friendly. The palace guard brands him Criminal Kim and orders him to remove his armor and sword. General Kim reluctantly complies, but as he moves forward, the palace archers shoot down his men in cold blood. The palace gates open and General Kim enters, confronting the young King and a woman who stares back at him. The King's advisor warns of General Kim's popularity and power, and the young King is warned to punish General Kim harshly to maintain his position. General Kim never suspected the King's jealousy would be more dangerous than any sword he's faced. He turns to the woman (the Queen), who assures him she's fine, but urges him to proceed and approach the King, regardless of the consequences. The Queen is willing to die, but General Kim must continue on.

Goblin

As General Kim approaches the young King, he seethes with anger. The woman's tears roll down her face, and the King orders everyone to be killed. An arrow pierces her heart, and she dies. Despite his wounds, General Kim continues forward, while his companions are killed. The King's advisor, with a declaration, states that the General's body will be left to rot in the field for animals to consume.

In his final moments, General Kim, struggling to rise with a wounded leg, asks his aide to end his life with his own sword. With tears in his eyes, the aide follows through and impales the General's torso with the sword. The camera pulls back, revealing the sword's path through the General's body. The advisor's words echo in the background, declaring that the General's body will be left to rot in the field. The King walks away, leaving General Kim to stare at the Queen, who wears the same jade ring that the young woman had seen in the old woman's wares.

The voiceover narrates that General Kim died by his own sword, as the camera pans out to show the sword stuck in the ground. The beginning of the story was filled with bloodshed and drama, marked by General Kim's downfall.
