Deacon Sharpe wreaks havoc on The Bold and the Beautiful

Some viewers of The Young and the Restless have been asking about the character Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) who has been exposed as helping Diane Jenkins ( Susan Walters) fake her own death. This is a rewriting of history as it was never shown on screen or even implied at the time Diane died. As far as Genoa City residents and Y&R fans knew Diane was dead and buried until now.

Longtime fans of The Young and the Restless recall exactly who Deacon was and those who currently watch The Bold and the Beautiful are enjoying the character in action at this current time. He is a complex man who always seems to pay for the bad decisions he makes.

Kanan originated the role of Sharpe on The Bold and the Beautiful, on October 1, 2000, and remained until, February 22, 2005. During this time he found out he was the biological father of "Little Eric", a baby being raised by Rick Forrester (Jacob Young) and Amber Moore (Adrienne Frantz). Amber's cousin, Becky was actually the birth mom but Amber passes the child off as her own son with Rick.

When the truth is revealed Deacon seeks custody of his son and begins sleeping with Amber. He later marries later Brigette Forrester ( currently Ashley Jones) and then has an affair with her mother Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang). The result of the adultery is a baby girl who is now an adult, Hope Logan Spencer (Anika Noelle). Brooke eventually kicks Descon to the curb and out of his daughter’s life so she could pursue Ridge Forrester ( currently a Thorsten Kaye).

Deacon Sharpe arrives in Genoa City

Deacon left LA and B&B and showed up in Genoa City on The Young and the Restless on June 23, 2009.. He claimed to be an art dealer and was involved with a stolen painting. He tricks Gloria Bardwell(Judith Chapman) into handing over the stolen Terroni painting by promising her a share of the money he received after selling it.

Sharpe framed Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei), who was dating his ex-girlfriend Amber. He agrees to provide evidence to clear Daniel if Amber agrees to sleep with him and sets it up so Daniel will hear them having sex. After Diane was killed Deacon blackmailed Nikki Newman ( Melody Thomas Scott) into marrying him or he would tell everyone she bashed Diane’s head in with a rock.

Deacon later confessed that he killed Diane by hitting her with a second rock after Nikki. Later, it was believed that Paul Williams (Doug Davidson's) psycho sister Patty Williams ( Stacy Haiduk) murdered Diane. Deacon continued to blackmail Genoa City residents and he himself is later blackmailed. He committed various crimes. was set up by Daniel’s mom Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) went to prison and was released in 2012.

Deacon returns to Te Bold and the Beautiful

Deacon returned to The Bold and the Beautiful from May 24, 2012 until June 27, He showed up again later thst same year and his last appearance was on October 9, 2012. Kanan announced on March 17, 2014, that he was returning to The Bold and the Beautiful in a contract position and appeared on June 13, 2014.

On October 2021, Kanan reprised the role of Deacon on B&B but in recent weeks he has been mentioned on The Young and the Restless because Diane has announced that Sharpe assisted her by finding a corpse to put in her coffin to fake her death in 2011.

Deacon Sharpe's future

Diane is trying to prove to Genoa City residents and its not clear whether or not Deacon really helped her 21 years ago or if she is simply using him as her fall guy. Deacon seems to be trying to live a better life since returning to LA but he really does not have a current storyline that will keep him connected longterm to other characters on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Some fans of The Young and the Restless have been wondering if he might show up in Genoa City. Whatever happens in his future Deacon has a sordid past. For a decade this man has known that Kyle Abbott's (Michael Mealor) mother never died and allowed Nikki to believe she was a murderer. Spoilers are not giving any hints of what is coming in Deacon's future so viewers can only stay tuned.
