Lind and Caster

Alyvia Alym Lind has been portraying Faith Newman for a decade on The Young and the Restless. Viewers have enjoyed watching her grow as an actress as welll as grow up on screen since 2011. Both Faith and her portrayer, Alyvia have have grown from children into beautiful young women right before our eyes. Y&R fans have come to think highly of the talented actress and this is why some fans are reacting badly to the news that Lind is leaving the CBS daytime drama. Social media gives a platform that was not available to past generations and soap fans are brutally honest with their feelings.

Some viewers are pointing out that Lind came and went often but the execs kept her on and did not SORAS the character. Other fans believe the young actress is making a mistake to leave a sure thing and take a chance on Netflix. What is being overlooked in this situation is that Alyvia Alym Lind had the right like everyone else to make her own choices and deal with her own success or failure. Faith’s portrayer has been taking on outside projects for quite a while and even played a young Dolly Parton in two made for television movies, Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors and Dolly Parton's Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love.

The young actress also portrayed Angelica Green in the 2019 Netflix series Daybreak. She always worked around her role as Nick and Sharon's daughter and Y& R execs Ave always worked with her. This time she is walking away from her popular character but the show will go on. Lind who is 13, will be replaced by 18 year old Reylynn Castor who currently portrays Lola Wight on the Netflix Original/WWE production, "The Big Show Show". How ironic that one actress is stepping ay from Netflix and the other will be taking on a new role on the wildly popular streaming service.

Reylynn Castor made her first onscreen appearance when she was 7 years old in a national television commercial. She appeared in "American Housewife" and also portrayed Nori Sterling on the CBS sitcom "Me, Myself and I". Her first starring role was in 2019 in a Hollywood feature film titled "Adventures of Dally and Spanky". Castor has also appeared on stage in numerous productions including "Sleeping Beauty", "Big River", "The Music Man","Pippin", "Aladdin", and "Willie Wonka".

The age difference between the two actresses may work in favor of the character and lead to Faith being involved in more adult situations. Right now it’s drinking and driving, bullying and texting. An older Faith will probably become involved in being defiant, romance and sex. The Young and the Restless fans also mention that the show has followed a pattern with blonde women in the cast. Some viewers will be watching to see if the new Faith’s hair will eventually become much lighter as Caster’s hair is noticeably darker than Linds.

Along with Faith, there are Nikki, Sharon, Traci, Christine, Abby, and Ashley, who have all retained their golden locks. Summet changes her hair color often but usually returns to being blonde. Phyllis the fiery redhead had at times lightened her Tresses and both of Kyle’s New York associations, Tara and Zoe were blonde.Right now she of dealing with drinking and being bullied. Now that Reylynn is taking over the role perhaps Faith might find herself falling in love.Y&R viewers should have been expecting this day but many are angry that Lind is leaving to star in a Netflix series.

Such a talented actress as Lind is naturally going to spread her wings and try new ventures. Life goes on and Reylynn Caster has been chosen to take over the role of the troubled teen. No details have been given as to when Lind’s last air date is or when Caster will first appear. Be on the lookout for spoilers and updates to related to both Lind and Caster and the heir future endeavors. Best of luck to both young women, wherever their careers take them in the future.
