80 for Brady made a touchdown into theaters in 2023. Making their lifelong wish come true, four best friends win tickets to the Superbowl. In search of Tom Brady, a series of unforgettable tales happen on their travels.

This was the best movie theater experience I’ve had in a long time with everyone laughing and having a good time. 80 for Brady is not just a film about sports. It’s about friendship. While the film is a great time, there’s too much filler in the middle half.

80 for Brady is led by a powerhouse quad of actresses. Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, and Sally Field were tremendous. These actresses set numerous examples both in their careers and as their characters.

Each actress is given well-deserved screen time. They each have their own subplot. The one who stands out the most is Lily Tomlin. She is deep in her performance. I also got a kick out of Fonda reading her baseball erotica book to a group of baseball fans. I felt that Moreno wasn’t given enough to do but she was hilarious in the party scenes.

While watching the film, it’s fun to pinpoint which character you are. I know I am Sally Field’s character in my friend group. I always carry the tickets.

Friendship is a wonderful gift. Aside from joking around, the women define what friendship is. They’re there for one another in tough times. Take as many adventures as you can together. Memories with friends are worthwhile.

80 for Brady is filled with surprises. Credits include Sara Gilbert, Harry Hamlin, Rob Corddry, Glynn Turman, Bob Balaban, and more. Be on the lookout for Tom Brady. You never know who you are going to see next, like Guy Fieri hosting a hot chicken wings contest. Billy Porter was one of my favorite appearances. He kindly helps the women.

80 for Brady is a fantastic time but it swerves off the football field in the middle. Writers were trying to fill time to see what other zany adventures the women got into. The women are invited to a party. Not much transpires throughout this scenario other than watching the women get high and hallucinate.

Why couldn’t the story take place at the football stadium the entire time? This film is about football. However, it’s about these aging women who no matter how old can still develop crushes on sports heroes or actors. The film is meant to be about how you never lose passion.

Sports play a significant role. I’ve never been that big into sports, but over time they’ve grown on me more now that I am an adult. People gather together to watch sports. To make memories. 80 for Brady’s most defining moments take place at the football game. We all have passions, no matter our gender.

Upon reading reviews, audiences weren’t fond of the film because it lacked a cohesive story. Films have the right to be silly! 80 for Brady is a film about sports but from a fresh perspective. Women aren’t recognized enough in the sports world, whether as playing sports or cheering from the foreground.

Audience reaction is my favorite part which is what I missed when we couldn’t go to movie theaters during the height of the pandemic. It’s a time to laugh together. Take your best friends on an adventure and go see 80 for Brady. It’s a good Superbowl film to get you pumped before the big game. I had the best time.
