Why has the story of the gamer Fat Cat (胖猫) been trending on Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok) recently?

When I first heard about this, I thought it might be a scam or something, but as I looked into it further, the story became more and more heart-wrenching for Fat Cat. It felt like watching the journey of a young man with the purest heart being cruelly deceived, unknowingly pushed to the point of throwing himself into the river.

He specializes in jungle role, with his standout hero being 梦奇 (Mengqi) - The Marvel of Dreams. He is quite famous for being the top player of Mengqi - the best Mengqi players nationwide (given China's large population, you get it, it's like being a top mage), partly because he has played 7911 matches with a win rate of over 90%, and partly because his main profession is boosting ranks but always maintaining a polite and obedient attitude, so many people place orders with him.

Fat Cat had an online relationship with his girlfriend, to whom he sent all the money he earned in two years for her spending, totaling 510,000 yuan (= 1.8 billion VND). However, they only met twice, and went to the movies together once. His girlfriend promised that after two years of dating, on her birthday in May this year, they would plan to get engaged. This gave Fat Cat hope, and he tirelessly took orders day and night to earn more money for his girlfriend's spending and their future.
