The land of Tamriel and my idea

How the game elder scrolls 5 was a masterpiece

By Silence is goldenPublished 3 years ago 10 min read

I began my journey into the country of Skyrim and explored many sites of the wonderful land of Tamriel. My journey I believe started in 2014. I created my character who was a black khajiit named "Hunter". I like to play the more stealthy of classes in video games which the khajiits fit the perfect role. Lean, cat-humanoid beings with a knack for stealth. The game started with what I believe I was held as a prisoner with a few others. It's been awhile so I forgot the exact reason of accusation, from my memory of the game. It was due to being falsely accused of a crime.

Just the beginning of the game captivated me and the more I played the more and more in love I felt with this masterpiece. Everything about the land of Tamriel amazed me, with everlasting amounts of quests, a land inhabited with endless creatures, near infinite stuff you could do, a world surrounded by beautiful of scenery one could only imagine and the hauntingly gorgeous music entrancing you into the world of Skyrim.

This game made you feel like you where entrapped in a world filled with beauty and adventure of memories that will last for a lifetime.

The game is super diverse as well, with a main quest line of stopping the end of the world from a dragon who plans on wiping out life, to working as a thief and assassin in the medieval era.

The thieves guild and the assassins brotherhood was in my opinion one of the best parts of the game. It just fits so well and makes you feel like you are playing a whole different game altogether; as it focuses on less of the fantasy element and feels more like a game like hitman yet beautifully combines the two genres of fantasy and stealth. Creating a marriage between two genres you would not expect to compliment each other so well.

What I want to talk about more here is my idea for Bethesda I previously wrote about before.

In fact wish Bethesda which is the development company of elder scrolls would make another elder scrolls game but more focused on the thieves guild and assassins brotherhood.

It would be like you are a rebel in the world of Skyrim trying to overthrow a corrupt empire.

The thieves guild and assassins brotherhood actually work together in the actual elder scrolls 5 game to some degree. And it would be the same in this game except they would be working together as one helping each other fight for the cause of ending the war and corruption in the world of Skryim.

You will do similar tasks just like you do in the actual game as in the missions provided by the thieves guild and assassins brotherhood. In this game you will be stealing valuable items for income and in order to get money supporting your guild and just like in the actual game restoring the guild and brotherhood to it's former glory.

Just like the actual game, you want the brotherhood to be feared again in order for the people of Skyrim to respect and take the brotherhood/guild seriously in order to gain support.

In this game, the creed which is the brotherhood and thieves guild joined, gains more recognition. Anonymous quests from the people of Skyrim to assassinate a certain target or item they want you to steal for them for example will be unlocked. The more infamy you get the more side quests options you will get for stuff like money or rare items.

Like the actual Skyrim game, this will be still the same timeline and fantasy type of game. The beginning will start off the same way it did in elder scrolls 5 where you are a prisoner falsely accused but this time no dragon shows up.

As you watch the fellow prisoners get executed, the guards decide to bring you into interrogation. They will knock you out and you will be taken to a high security prison in Windhelm.

You will be interrogated and choose dialogue options on what to say but no matter what the guard will not believe you. However the dialogue options you choose in this scene will increase a different skill.

You will be taken to a cell. A guard will then check up on you, speak to you and turn his back. You will then have to pickpocket the guard in order to steal the key.

But if you get caught the guard will try and kill you, sending reinforcements. This will likely end up in death for you since you are unarmed with no form of armor. When you die it will reset back to the guard with his back turned as an autosave by default.

When you successfully steal the key you will gain your first pickpocketing level. As soon as there is a opening aka chance to escape you will have to use the stealth mechanics of the game in order to escape the prison. But just like the actual elder scrolls 5 game you can choose your approach whether you want to be a rogue like character, a character relying on brute force like an orc, or a mage like character using magic etc. Basically there will be all the same races available to choose.

Therefore escaping doesn't have to be stealth but in any fashion you'd like. Same thing as the actual game when you kill someone you can loot there body and take there items. So you can wear the guards armour and carry the weapons that the guard wielded to help your escape.

Once you escape you are a wanted fugitive in Tamriel. So you have to be careful and keep a low profile in the start trying not to be seen in Windhelm by guards.

You will run into a house that appears abandoned, and realize this is the perfect place to prepare. But the house will be locked and you will have to pickpocket a lock pick from someone. If you get caught same thing will happen as before but it will reset to the scene where you have to find someone to get a lock pick.

When you get the lock pick you will enter the house of Aventus Aretino a boy who is trying to summon the dark brotherhood in order to kill a mean woman at an orphanage I believe he escaped from. You will feel bad for the kid and agree to do it.

In the house of Aventus Aretino you will find a closet you need to steal clothes from to evade detection more but you have to be careful not to be suspicious or you will get sent to prison again, run away or fight the guards. Aventus will give you money in thanks for your agreement on killing the mean lady(Sorry I forget her name.)

This money will be enough for you to get a ride to carriage driver. You will have to go to Riften and do the job. Once you kill the mean orphanage owner like the original game all the kids will thank you.

After a job well done the quest menus will tell you to rent a room at a hotel to get some rest. Once you do that the same scene from the original game will occur with Astrid from the dark brotherhood except this time she will recognize you as the prisoner who she heard escaped and admire that.

Once you kill one of the people Astrid wants you to kill. Like in the actual game you will be taken to the dark brotherhood hideout and introduced. But this time the dark brotherhood and thieves guild work together as one. Astrid will get you set up and prepared in order to function in the world of Skyrim and you will won't have the same risk being detected anymore as a fugitive but there's still a risk but lower.

You will do similar quests from the base game from the guild and brotherhood. But one day on one of the main quests a dragon will appear which you and a fellow brotherhood member you where travelling with on this quest will have to fight the dragon. The brotherhood member will be shocked there is a dragon since in skyrim there has not been a dragon in over decades I believe therefore thought of as a myth.

Once you kill the dragon you will discover you are dragonborn and like in the original game. Your coworker will be shocked that you are dragonborn. Meaning an individual who can absorb the soul of a dragon, can use shouts and communicate with dragons.

The people at the creed which is the guild/brotherhood. Won't believe you two at first that you found a dragon and are dragonborn. Until a future quest where a dragon ends up attacking the creed and you and the members have to defend your hideout killing the dragon. They will witness you absorbing the dragons soul and will all be shocked you are dragonborn also.

Curious what this all means they will tell you about the greybeards and that you need to see them.(I'm to lazy to explain what the greybeards are but I guess you could say they are a hermit-ted community of men who possess lots of knowledge of dragons and possess the gift of the voice. Meaning the power to use shouts like dragons.)

The greybeards will help you hone your power and mention that they know this is the end of the world is coming at that Alduin the dragon leader is planning on destruction of Skyrim.

You and the creed agree to stop Alduin in order to save the world. But due to the infamy of the group when trying to convince people no one will be on your side and think your crazy. This is why doing quests from the brotherhood will help people take you guys seriously and pay attention more to the message. Thieves guild quests will be for getting income to support the creed.

One day when your rank grows high enough in the brotherhood you will be given a quest to assassinate the empire. You and the brotherhood will agree to it wanting to stop the corruption in the world of Skyrim and end the war.

Your quests will then be related to preparing you that eliminating targets, among other various tasks.

There will be random optional side quests and story lines in this game as well not related to stopping Alduin or the creed. Just like the real game.

Near the end of the main story line. You will start your mission assassinating the empire but it will be a decoy and you and the creed will be in geopardy. As this was all a setup. Just like the actual game you will have to kill all the guards and escape.

When you make it to the hideout like the actual game the guards made it there first and trying to burn down the place killing lots of the creed members. Astrid the leader will be burned but still alive enough to say her last words to you and apologize for doubting you. She will then say you are the best member of the creed and to take her place as leader.

You will do that. The next series of main quests will be focusing on restoring the creed. This part will be more thieves guild based as the quests will be stealing high value items from notable targets in order for a high amount of payment.

If I ever get a chance to work with Bethesda which is highly unlikely I will make sure these quests are as captivating as the quests in the original game.

The creed will grow and you will recruit more and more people on your side and members of the creed.

One day the day of assassinating the empire will come, sometime after you do that.

There will be a massive attack on Tamriel of dragons attack the cities. You and the guards will fight them. After killing all the invaders. The guards and civilians will notice you are dragonborn.

They will bow and worship you despite knowing who you are. The guards will question you and your motives. You will explain everything and advocate your message on your rebellion. Spreading the message of peace.

You will convince the stormclock leader Ulfric stormclock and the imperials leader(yes I forgot the name I know.) To end the war and they will shake hands making an agreement.

The crowd will cheer and discuss what just happened.

Your quests from then on will be focused on preparing to fight Alduin similar to the actual game.

When the time comes where you fight Alduin and do all the things leading up to that in the actual game. After you kill Alduin you will be known as a hero in Skyrim and the creeds reputation will become good since after all you guys ended the war and spread the message for the greater good. Not to mention you where the one who tried to warn the people about Alduin despite them not listening, treating you like a crazy person.

A new empire will be elected and the creeds skills will be recognized. The empire will offer for the creed to become a spy agency working to take down wrongdoers of Skyrim, busting cults and stuff. With the large sum of money offered you and the creed will agree to do it.

There will be lots of fun after game quests I thought of for this as well along with other unrelated side quests. My idea will still have the magic of Elder Scrolls 5 yet it's an alternate storyline. I have many ideas for the game but I wanted to keep it simply enough since it's a lot. I just put down the main parts.

I know this is a really big dream and unlikely scenario but it would be an honour working with Bethesda making this a reality.
