Apple used its Spring event to reveal the new iPhone SE and iPad Air 5, along with a slew of other surprises. The A15 Bionic CPU was rumored to power the upcoming iPad Air 5, but Apple opted to go it up a notch and include an M1 chip. Apple's move came as a complete shock to the world, and it only added to the device's attractiveness. Furthermore, as compared to the A15 Bionic chip, the M1 chip in the iPad Air 5 offers improved performance. If you want to buy an iPad with the same screen size as the iPad Air 5, here are some reasons why the M1 iPad Pro is a better choice than the iPad Air 5.

Take a look at some of the key reasons why the M1 iPad Pro is superior to the new M1 iPad Air 5.

If you're undecided between the M1 iPad Pro and the M1 iPad Air 5, we'll help you make an educated choice. There are numerous distinctions between the two types, and it is important that you are aware of them. Keep in mind that the final decision is yours to make. The reasons why the M1 iPad Pro is a better alternative than the recently launched iPad Air 5 are detailed below.

Display with ProMotion

While the iPad Air 5 has a regular display, the M1 iPad Pro model has a ProMotion display. A 120Hz refresh rate is possible thanks to ProMotion technology. This implies the material will be more fluid, and the games will look better as a result. Using a monitor with a greater refresh rate is always a pleasant experience. The iPad Air 5, on the other hand, has a regular 60Hz display. Furthermore, the iPad Pro has a brightness of 600 nits, whereas the iPad Air 5 has a brightness of 500 nits.

Speakers in stereo

Instead of the two speakers found on the iPad Air 5, the M1 iPad Pro has four. When viewing media content, it provides an immersive audio experience.

Face ID

Face ID is used for all authentication purposes on the M1 iPad Pro. On the other hand, the iPad Air 5 keeps Touch ID in the Power button. Face ID is advanced and much easier to use, albeit it relies on the user's preferences.

Sensors and cameras

The iPad Pro has a 12MP Wide and 10MP Ultra-Wide camera sensor, whereas the iPad Air 5 has simply a 12MP Wide sensor. A LiDAR sensor is also included in the M1 iPad Pro for better augmented reality features. This is a significant advantage for the iPad Pro.

Connectivity

Sub-6GHz 5G connectivity is available on the new iPad Air 5, while mmWave 5G connectivity is available on the M1 iPad Pro. As a result, if you plan to use your iPad outside and want to take advantage of the finest connectivity and faster speeds, the iPad Pro is a better option.

Storage

The M1 iPad Pro comes with up to 2TB of storage, whereas the current iPad Air 5 only has 256GB. Furthermore, the iPad Air 5 has a maximum RAM of 8GB, but the iPad Pro has 8GB and 16GB of RAM.

USB-C

The M1 iPad Pro has a USB-C connector with Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4 compatibility. The iPad Air 5 has USB-C connectivity but no Thunderbolt 4 compatibility. Both models, though, can connect to Apple's new Studio Display.

The M1 iPad Pro and the new M1 iPad Air 5 share many of the same features. The iPad Pro is a better option for you, but keep in mind that the base model costs $200 more than the iPad Air 5. If you want to take advantage of high-end capabilities and a better display, the M1 iPad Pro is the way to go. If you want to save money while still getting a good experience, the iPad Air 5 is the way to go. More information is available in our iPad Air 5 announcement page.
