Let’s discover together the side of Turin (Italy) studded with hidden secrets, it will be a journey into mystery poised between history, beliefs and legends.

According to the legend, Turin was founded in 1529 BC by the Egyptian prince Eridano, who after leaving his homeland, would have landed with his followers in what is now Liguria (an Italian region) which takes its name from his son Ligurio. From here he continued inland, reaching a wide plain in Piedmont (region of which Turin is the capital) near the river Po (which reminded him of the Nile) and founded the city of Turin. Unfortunately he died shortly after, he drowned in the river Po. Here the cult of the god Apis, a bull, spread, which would therefore later influence the choice of the name of the city, initially called Eridania (a bull in Italy is called toro). This thesis is supported by the coincidence that the city rises where four rivers converge, and water, for all religions, especially for Egyptian and Greek ones, is a symbol of purification.

The ancient bond between Turin and Egypt is still testified by the city's Egyptian Museum, the second most famous in the world after the one in Cairo.

Another version (more truthful) regarding the origins of Turin dates back to the Roman period. The city would have been born in 28 BC. following the expansion of the unstoppable Roman Empire, at the behest of Augustus, hence the name Julia Augusta Taurinorum. The city was divided into two parts: the eastern area (where the sun rises) linked to the forces of good, while the western area (where the sunset and darkness arise) linked to the evil forces, in which there was also a necropolis, where the condemned were buried and crucified.

According to alchemists, however, Turin was born from the crossing of two rivers, the Po and the Dora, therefore at the meeting point of two currents energies. According to esoteric tradition, the Po represents the male sphere and the Sun, while the Dora represents the female sphere and the Moon. This dualism has always been strongly felt in the city which would be linked to the perfect synthesis of opposites: matter and spirit, man and woman.

The city had and has a Roman plan with 4 access doors on the 4 cardinal points. They were connected to each other through two orthogonal road axes, while the central road was oriented following the ascending line of the sun. Also the 45th parallel passes through the center of the city and this would accumulated a great deal of positive magic.

The city is known for being one of the tips of the white magic triangle (with Prague and Lyons) and also the black magic triangle (with London and San Francisco).

In the next few articles, we will talk about the four places representing the white magic ( the Mole Antonelliana, the Gran Madre, the Piazza Castello, the Fontana Angelica) and the four connected to the black magic ( the Piazza Statuto, the rondò della forca, the palace and the door of the evil, the eyes of the evil). The famous Museo Egizio is considered to be related to both, white and black magic.

In case you find yourself in Turin and you have an interest on this topic, there are guided tours, for about $40 (depending on the tour you choose) that will lead anyone in discovering the legends and mysteries of the various places and the various esoteric and masonic symbols, with also the possibility of visiting the underground city.
