Islam is one of the world's major religions, with over 1.9 billion followers worldwide, making it the second-largest religion after Christianity. It was founded by Prophet Muhammad in the 7th century CE in what is now Saudi Arabia. Muslims believe that Muhammad received revelations from Allah (God) through the angel Gabriel, which were later compiled into the holy book of Islam, the Quran.

Islam is based on five fundamental pillars that form the foundation of the faith and guide the lives of its adherents:

Shahada: The declaration of faith, which states that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger.

Salah: The ritual prayer performed five times a day. Muslims face towards the Kaaba in Mecca while praying and engage in physical and spiritual acts of worship.

Zakat: The obligation to give a portion of one's wealth to those in need, typically 2.5% of a person's excess wealth annually.

Sawm: Fasting during the month of Ramadan, from dawn until sunset. Muslims abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs during daylight hours as an act of self-discipline and devotion.

Hajj: The pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia, which is obligatory for every physically and financially capable Muslim at least once in their lifetime.

Muslims also follow various moral and ethical principles derived from the Quran and the teachings and example of Prophet Muhammad. These principles include honesty, justice, compassion, kindness, and respect for others.

Islam encompasses various branches and schools of thought. The two main denominations within Islam are Sunni and Shia, with the majority of Muslims being Sunnis. There are also other smaller groups, such as Sufis, who emphasize the inward and mystical aspects of the faith.

It's important to note that Islam, like any religion, is a diverse and multifaceted faith, and its followers hold a wide range of beliefs and practices. The religion plays a significant role in shaping the cultures, societies, and laws of many countries with Muslim-majority populations.

Islam, like any religion, is often regarded as beautiful by its followers due to its teachings, principles, and practices. Here are some aspects that Muslims find beautiful about Islam:

Oneness of God: Islam emphasizes the concept of monotheism, or the belief in the oneness of God (Allah). This notion resonates with Muslims as they find beauty in the simplicity and unity of worshiping a single divine entity.

Quranic Guidance: Muslims consider the Quran, believed to be the literal word of God, as a source of guidance and wisdom. They find beauty in its eloquence, ethical teachings, and the way it addresses the human condition, providing comfort, solace, and answers to life's challenges.

Prophet Muhammad's Example: Muslims greatly revere Prophet Muhammad as the final messenger of God. They find beauty in his character, his compassion, his integrity, and the example he set in various aspects of life, including personal conduct, relationships, and leadership.

Spirituality and Connection with God: Islam encourages individuals to develop a deep spiritual connection with God through acts of worship, such as prayer, fasting, and remembrance of God. Muslims find beauty in the sense of peace, tranquility, and closeness to God that comes from engaging in these practices.

Emphasis on Justice and Compassion: Islam places a strong emphasis on justice, fairness, and compassion. Muslims find beauty in the teachings that promote equality, social justice, caring for the less fortunate, and upholding the rights of others, regardless of their background or beliefs.

Community and Solidarity: Islam fosters a sense of community and brotherhood/sisterhood among its followers. Muslims find beauty in the unity, support, and shared values they experience within their communities, especially during times of celebration, charity, and communal worship.

Call to Personal Development: Islam encourages self-improvement and the development of one's character. Muslims find beauty in the constant pursuit of knowledge, personal growth, and the strive to become better individuals in service to God and humanity.

It's essential to remember that beauty is subjective, and individuals may find different aspects of Islam appealing based on their personal beliefs, cultural backgrounds, and experiences. The beauty of Islam is often intertwined with the individual's connection to their faith and the positive impact it has on their lives.
