Tea inside the tea polyphenols, tea pigments, theanine, tea polysaccharides, and other beneficial active substances, many research results have shown that these ingredients are beneficial to human health, although not yet as strong evidence to support the "tea can health care", but there is no doubt that tea belongs to the health of the drink. But do not think that by drinking tea to scrape fat, eat less and move more is the key to weight loss.

Tea

Tea contains caffeine, which is one of the main sources of bitter taste. Although caffeine is addictive because it contains acrylamide, which is classified as a carcinogen. However, the human body is only at risk of cancer when it consumes 2.6-16 micrograms per kilogram per day. For a person weighing 55 kg, the daily tolerance level for acrylamide is 143 micrograms, and people who drink more tea generally do not exceed this intake limit, so there is no need to worry about the health effects of caffeine in tea.

What is tea scum?

Tea can not only be brewed, some places also have a unique way of cooking, Guangxi Yao people "tea oil", Chaoshan area "ring tea", Inner Mongolia "salty milk tea", Yunnan "roasted tea", Tibetan "ghee tea" ...... "Eat" tea in a variety of ways, the most common or brewed with boiling water. Over time, it will be found that the teacups, teapots, the inner wall yellowing and black, a thick layer of tea scale have been quietly formed.

On the tea scale, we also have different views, folk have "drink tea without washing the cup, the king of hell to life", some people say that the tea scale does not need to be washed so that the tea bubble out of the tea is more tea flavor. Tea scale is water evaporation, tea tanning exposure in the air is oxidized, after the polymerization reaction formed compounds, such as calcium silicate, calcium carbonate, they are insoluble in water, after making tea deposits cling to the inner wall of the teapot or teacup, with water is not washed off.

There are elements such as potassium, calcium, and magnesium in tea water, but heavy metals such as lead and mercury depend on the quality of the water and tea, and hard water is more likely to cause tea scale. And lead and mercury are also insoluble in water in the form of sediment, and the content is very low after the filtered tea water does not worry about the problem of harmful heavy metals.

However, the tea scale exposed to the air for a long time will attract dust and breed bacteria, which is still not good for our safety and health. And for people who have a cleanliness fetish, too much tea scale will accumulate and affect the mood of drinking tea. So it is good to clean the tea scales often, anyway, it is not trouble, I will share with you some very practical and convenient to remove tea scale small methods.

Tea scale removal tips

Potato peel cleaning: put the potato peel into a teacup or teapot, pour boiling water, cover with a lid and soak for about 15 minutes, then rinse with clean water, the teacup and teapot will look brand new again. Because potatoes contain a large amount of starch, high temperature will form a colloidal solution with the ability to absorb and decontaminate, more effective in removing tea scale.

Toothpaste cleaning: squeeze an appropriate amount of toothpaste on the toothbrush, evenly coated on the inner wall of the teacup, then brush the tea scale clean and rinse with water, the tea scale will be removed! Because toothpaste has friction agents (light calcium carbonate, calcium hydrogen phosphate, etc.) and surfactants inside, these ingredients can remove dirt.

Baking soda cleaning: pour an appropriate amount of baking soda into a teacup teapot, add water to melt, cover and shake a few times, and let it sit for a few minutes, the tea scale can be removed. Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate, and tea scale chemical reaction to produce soluble substances

White vinegar or lemon slices cleaning: add an appropriate amount of heated white vinegar or a few slices of lemon into the teacup or teapot, wait for the vinegar and tea scale to fully dissolve with a brush and a flush of water. Because white vinegar and lemon are acidic, tea scale is mostly carbonate solids such as calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate, which react with acid to produce carbon dioxide and water-soluble acetate.

Salt cleaning: the tea set with tea scale will be rinsed with water first so that it is easy for the salt to adhere to the tea scale on the inner wall, and then use a cleaning brush or toothbrush to apply the right amount of salt and rub it repeatedly, you will find that the tea scale gradually detaches. Because salt and tea scale in the alkaline material will react to generate soluble sodium salt, water a rinse on the tea set on the bright crystal.

Eggshell cleaning: put the washed eggshell into the tea set, add water, and heat it for about 20 minutes to remove the tea scale. Because the main component of eggshells is calcium carbonate, it is easy to decompose into carbon dioxide and calcium hydroxide when the temperature is high, and sodium hydroxide is an alkaline compound, which has a strong decontamination ability.

Making tea also requires hot water, and over time, our hot water kettle for boiling water will also form limescale. Mainly because we live in the tap water mostly from a long time stagnant groundwater, so the calcium and magnesium salts and other minerals will be relatively more, after heating will generate insoluble precipitated material, the greater the hardness of the water, the more likely to form scale.

As long as the water is tested by the municipal water department and the health department to meet the standards, do not worry about causing stones, but due to the poor thermal conductivity of the scale, the heat transfer capacity of the heated surface is reduced will waste energy. Similarly, in addition to the tea scale baking soda, the white vinegar cleaning method is also applicable to remove limescale.

Take a quick look at how much tea scale you have in your hands and how long it has been without cleaning. Next time, don't throw away the leftover peeled potatoes, use them to get rid of the tea scale. Use a clean and shiny tea set to make tea, the tea in your hands is more fragrant!

WOW. How did you learn all of this about tea!?! And how long did it take to gather all the information? I really enjoy tea, almost on a daily basis. But never thought to examine the literal depths as you have. Keep it coming. What else do we (I) not know??? 🔥💜🔥💜🔥
