How bleak or bright is the far future? Do you know what the year 3033 will look like? Do you know what technology we will still be yearning for? Or, will we be almost extinct living off freeze-dried meats and rehydrated veggies? There are only two ways to go, harnessing the madness or being consumed by it. Let me explain... The future cannot be fully predicted or even swayed. What can be said is this, the farther we go into the future the more change has taken place. Knowing this all we would have to do is speculate whether humanity will undergo more entropy or experience empathy?

The true choice is non at all. Humanity will either see its zenith as a paragon or it will devolve into a dystopian future. I can guess the ladder is more relatable in the societal psyche since it has been relayed across many diverse mediums over countless years. Holding this structure in your mind you might also see the possibility of stagnation which is equally as devastating. What if we were destined to experience the current environment with differing settings and inventions? This means that the lowest economic class would be living in the dystopian future while the highest class would be living in the paragon, which may even resemble today's environment.

Its also interesting to think about how the future, no matter how bleak or shinny will always call for drastic change. As of right now, D.A.R.P.A has robots capable of doing back flips on their own, as well as mimicking canine and feline movement, speed and evasiveness to varying degrees. Robots can even discuss moral, ethical and emotional issues as in the case of Tony Robbins's conversation with the Robot "Sophia". Now, is the future.

So, what will happen? Definitively I do not know, however, It can be said that listening to those who have the power can lead you to the future. As of right now tech, energy and government are the current holders of power. These three sectors hold the most influence in our lives as of right now. What we can expect to envision is the levying of these sectors with the direction of its goals, expansion and usage. Knowing this we can surmise that these industries will keep growing an involving themselves within our lives. Transforming the day to day operations with more automated processes. Robotic automation has already replaced over 76% of manufacturing in the US alone, not to mention small service jobs such as barista-ing can be made obsolete by machines like the Keurig.

The future will be the amalgamation of humans and technology. Virtual Reality will become the new television and the service industry will be the new robotics industry. Everyday work will even be distant and digitized as it already is in some sections of service. I can see the future being quick, cold and transactional. The lessening of face to face connection will drain itself of meaning and become devoid of importance in future generations. We will be so distant from each other it may drive some to commit drastic actions in order to reconnect with the natural world. I want to stray away from comparing the future to the Matrix movie but it is incredibly hard not to at this junction.

The future may seem bleak and overhauled with mediocre possibilities but on the bright side for future humans there is a world without strenuous labor, mistreatment/bias, equal execution of the law and access to almost infinite knowledge. The positives of the bleak future have a lot to offer in terms of ease of living, however, would you sacrifice freedom for pleasure? The easier things get the more complacent and attached a person becomes making it harder for them to change the outcome of a particular situation. Lets also not forget that the Covid-19 pandemic is still active and seems to have become a mainstay.

With all the horrid possibilities that we could face and are certainly headed towards, I can see hope as things worsen. Throughout history it can be seen that humans band together in desperate times of need. When we do experience tragedy and loss all humans can empathize and form communities that are able to help one another. This is what I believe will happen, when we hit rock bottom, the misdirection and past travesties will lead us the right way because we have already gone the wrong way. We will learn and grow as we always do. Let the light be the guide for all of our future endeavors.
