'The Book Of Boba Fett' Teases A Mandalorian Civil War
The latest episode of The Book of Boba Fett felt more like an unofficial first episode for The Mandalorian Season 3. With an exclusive focus on Din Djarin and his current status in the Star Wars galaxy, “Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian” saw the titular Mandolorian regroup with The Armorer and Paz Vizsla after bringing in another bounty with the help of his newly acquired Darksaber. As Din Djarin was given new armor and upgrades by The Armorer, he was told about the troubled history of Bo-Katan Kryze and how her once-revered Mandalorian clan became disgraced outcasts after the Imperial raze of Mandalore.

Since we have seen them in A New Hope, Tusken Raiders have been considered antagonists. They were treated as almost savages of the planet, not talking, never seeing their faces, and always believing them to be the antagonist given how they come across our heroes like Luke Skywalker. In terms of the Hero's Journey, the Sand People were a threshold, an obstacle for Luke to overcome on his way to becoming the hero. Once the hero crosses that threshold, there is no going back.

The Book of Boba Fett has not shied away from jeopardizing our favorite former bounty hunter, having seen him survive the Sarlaac Pit, take on a ruthless gang of bikers, and mince no words with the Mayor of Mos Espa. However one group remains the biggest threat to the new dynasty; the Pykes.

Lucasfilm usually does not take lightly when one of its employees or contractors behaves inappropriately or says something out of line. Recent examples like Colin Trevorrow, Christopher Miller, Phil Lord, and author Chuck Wendig among others could testify. However, cutting ties with one of its stars or even penalizing them is not something that has started only after Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012.

Coruscant is an ecumenopolis planet (where the cities have merged into one city across the whole planet) located in the Core Worlds quadrant region of the Star Wars universe. There's never a shortage of discourse in the Star Wars fandom, though that isn't to say that a lot of it isn't justified. The online controversy surrounding Slave I, Boba Fett's famous starship began back in June of 2021, when it was reported that the name of the ship's LEGO Star Wars set would be renamed from Slave I to Boba Fett's Starship. To the average Star Wars fan, this was barely even news. But sadly, many self-proclaimed "hardcore" fans began to complain about Disney apparently "ruining" Boba Fett's starship by changing its name on a toy box. The heated discourse was rekindled again recently with the release of The Book of Boba Fett's fourth episode, in which the ship is never directly referred to by name. This has only increased these fans' paranoia about the ship's name being changed, despite it still being called Slave I on its canon Wookieepedia page.
