Everyone feels differently. How one person experiences anger will never be the same as someone else's. But everyone feels. And Bow was no different. When Bow was born she had a bright yellow glow around her. Her eyes glowed yellow and the more she smiled, the more the yellow intensified. When Bow fell asleep, the glow went away. And you could see her beautiful chocolate skin. The doctors were baffled. Before Bow could go home, doctors ran many tests to see if there was anything wrong with her. But they came up with nothing.

It wasn't until Bow was about two years old that her parents realized where her glow came from and by then they had seem more colors than the yellow she was born with. When Bow would feel anything, her skin would glow and her eyes would match. When she was angry, she would glow red. When she was happy; she would glow yellow. And when she was calm, she glowed blue.

The glowing became too much for her parents to handle. They were nervous for Bow and wondered how others would think when she would glow everytime her mood changed. One of their best friends was a scientist and asked him to create something that would control Bow's glows. Since then, she would experience her feelings normally. Until she turned 16.

Bow was curled up on the couch reading a book when she heard the front door unlock. She jumped up and watched as her father walked through the door after struggling with his keys for a bit.

"Hi Daddy!"

"Hi princess." He kissed her on the forehead as he walked past her to put his stuff in the closet. "How was school today?"

"It was long and boring. I really don't get why I have to be there everyday."

"To learn sweetheart."

"I know everything. What else is there for me to learn?" She picked her book back up and was getting ready to start reading again when she heard her dad chuckle.

"What's so funny?" she asked annoyed.

When he closed the closet to look at her, he could see that she began to glow red. His jaw dropped. Bow got scared. She didn't like the look on his face. And with that she switched from red to a dark green.

"Where's your necklace? Are you wearing you necklace? Bow you are never to take it off!"

"It's here daddy. I'm wearing it!" she was trembling as she went to show her dad her necklace that was hanging from her neck.

He sighed. "Bow. There is something we need to talk about. We are going to go to the bathroom and you are going to look at yourself in the mirror. Ok?"

"Is everything ok?" she asked.

"Yes." he sat her back down on the couch and as he sat next to her he grabbed her hand. "But you know how your mother used to always say how special you were?"

"Yes?"

"Well, when we go to look in the mirror, you'll see why." He stood up, still holding her hand, and motioned for her to follow him to the bathroom mirror. "You ready?" he asked nervously.

"Are you?"

"I just don't know how to explain this to you is all."

They walked towards the bathroom and as they got close he put his hands over her eyes. In the darkness all she could think about was her mom. And how whatever specialness she was about to discover her mom should be here for. But she passed away a month ago coming home from the grocery store. A hit and run with no witnesses. And that just made her angry. Her aura turned from a dark green to a bright red. Her father removed his hands from her eyes. She opened them and saw that she had a red glow over skin. Her eyes had turned red and her hair did as well.

"THIS IS SO COOL!!!" she yelled. Her dad seemed surprised with her reaction. "What happened? Is this the special thing mom always talked about. Is this what makes me special?" The more questions she asked the more excited she got and she changed from dark green to gold.

"I'm gold. I'm fucking gold! Im sorry for cursing but I'M GOLD. Hmph. You can't even afford to stand next to me you peasant." she told him. Head cocked high and mouth pursed so much so that she felt she was giving "rich bitch energy."

Her dad smiled. "So you're ok with this?"

"Well as soon as you tell me what this is, duh!" she smiled right back at him. The biggest grin she could muster.

"Well, what your mother and I were told is that whenever you feel experience your emotions they show in whatever color you change into."

"I've been feelings things all of my life and this has never happened."

"Well that's what the necklace is for. A friend of mine made it to help keep the chemicals that release your colors inside. So whenever you feel something you just seem to feel it like everyone else. But I'm guessing it doesn't work anymore."

Bow was a lot more calm now and her color went away. She went back to her brown skin and black hair and as she looked at herself in the mirror she thought: what other colors could I turn into? This was not what she expected for her 16th birthday but it was so much better. She couldn't wait to tell all of her friends. She basically had a superpower.
