On the Sending out of the Soul

Welcome Traveler, you have just taken your first step into the once furtive world of Astral Projection. The action of sending out your soul into the far and unknown reaches of reality.

This world we live in is only one of millions, perhaps billions, of known and unknown realities. Each one is as true as they are false.

This book will guide you into tapping into the previously unknown forces that link all these varied realities and show you how to travel through and among them.

We should start with the basics, what is Astral Projection?

This question has been asked by nearly every known culture and civilization since the dawn of time. There has been an innate understanding that we are physically present but spiritually, and mentally, imprisoned. We have sought to escape this prison since we first started staring into the dark void of the night sky.

Astral Projection is a long-studied practice, stretching back as far as Ancient Egypt. The practice has been attempted by every known culture throughout the world and is referenced in multiple religious texts. Given this information it must be concluded that the act of Astral Projection is known deep within the collective ancient consciousness of mankind. Cultures were attempting this long before they would have had interaction with outside forces and ideas. Modern science discredits the practice because their methods of experimentation are purely of the mind and body, but do not include the soul. Likewise, the scientific community does not give credit to the idea of the soul because they have yet to find a way to measure it with precision.

Now we know that if you have found this, you have more than likely done so after a long quest for truth. You are quite aware of the varying ideas about it and who has said what on the matter. But, if you have been fortunate enough to find this early in your search then we will briefly discuss the topic.

Astral Projection is the act of experiencing what is known as an "Out of Body Experience". Some say this is the extension of our minds through cosmic waves, others say that it is our souls gliding along etheric currents. Both are right and both are the same.

Astral Projection is something that we can only explain in the ways we know how to explain. We have physical laws of science that we cannot break, even if our methods appear to do so, and there are metaphysical laws of science that we must continue to learn.

Consider that your mind and soul are one and the same. Separated only by the mere concept that they are different. The power of will is so strong in each of us that simply believing in this makes it true. This willpower is what we will show you to harness in order to remove yourself from your physical being and travel the world and worlds beyond.

We have taken this journey, Traveler, the authors and auditors of this text you hold before you now. We have seen the wonders of the world, explored the surfaces of planets, and dived deep beneath the waves of many oceans.

Before you can join the ranks of those that know the secrets of the universe, you must learn of The Seven Lamps. The name we have given to the process by which we seek the secrets between the stars.

Recall that we stated that Astral Projection is a combination of physical and metaphysical science. The first chemists of the world knew this, we called this science Alchemy. The science and art of changing lead to gold. This itself was more metaphorical than literal. It was a means of disguising their work and protecting their secrets. The mysticisim of the practice, which would have been percieved as witchcraft, was allowed because greedy men wanted more material power.

The Ancient Art of Alchemy, yet another practice born out of the collective consciousness of mankind, is how those that wish to travel along the pathways of the Astral achieved their goal. Many people that attempted journeys resulting in Astral Travel were seeking out the Akashic Records. The repository of all combined human experience. These early voyagers discovered that the correct combination of physical and spiritual reagents would propel their minds and souls into the Astral Realm. Indeed these early explorers discovered the very path to what could be the key to mankind’s next step in physical and spiritual evolution. But, as of yet, it has been unknown if any have found their way and returned. In the following pages, you will learn this method and may take your own journey into the Astral and Etheric realms of spirituality.

We will discuss these parts in greater detail in the following passages.

The Mind is the greatest of travelers. Doing so despite its mortal confines. Thoughts race from our minds into every part of our lives. In our imaginations, where our darkest secrets sleep, our movements, and our actions. Consider the laws of physics and that nothing may travel faster than the speed of light. This is not true when we consider thought. Our thoughts move by instantaneous action. By simply willing ourselves to be somewhere, we can be when we move with only our minds and souls.

The mind rebels against its prison by distracting us with daydreams, and conjuring nightmares in our sleep. Our thoughts drive our need to escape.

The Seven Lamps guide the mind away from the body and into the Aether .

The Body is the mind given agency, although limited in man’s current state. Without the body, the mind is left with nothing but what it can only imagine. Through the body the mind learns and feels. It experiences the world so that the mind does not stagnate.

Before we continue there is another element that we must discuss. The Seven Lamps represent our metaphysical connection to the Etheric and Astral. But we still must have our physical connection.

Here we have The Circle of Anima. Our bodies have a strong connection to our realities because the body is how we percieve them. They tell us what is and is not present. Naturally, we follow these commands of our body because it is how we have survived as a species.

By utilizing the Circle of Anima, we can disconnect our perceptions from our bodies and understand the enigmatical truths of our universe.

The mind can function without the body, the body can live without the mind. This is evident in the catatonic, the comatose and severely disbaled. But neither are capable of anything without the soul. The soul gives the mind the ability to discern right from wrong. Even if this definition varies on the soul in question. It is the drive to be within one’s moral compass that is the responsibility of the soul. Without the soul the mind would be nothing more than a Codex of electrical impulses categorized by some unknown means.

The soul gives the body experiences that the mind must decode. What is pain? What is joy? Do I know love or hate? Some would say that these are the concepts of the mind, but if that were true, how would it be possible to physically feel these things so intensely?

The nausea of love, the heat of anger and weight of despair. All these bodily experiences come from the soul’s ability to solidify the abstract for our minds to comprehend. This is also why these emotions have many similar experiences, though the anomalies of the few that have...different souls.

It is the soul that gives life and moves our lives. It is your soul that can take flight in the unknown expanses if you allow it.

Before we begin our journey into the cosmic and mystical expanse of the universe, we must express to you that this is not at all a fool-proof system. It takes great strength of mind and will to control something that you have not controlled for eons. We believe that mankind once had this knowledge and that is why our souls continue to yearn for the experience, but somewhere along the way we lost this practice. Many have tried and been lost to the ether, their bodies left in a catatonic state or have simply died all together. We believe that something happened to the souls of the latter, for even in our traveling our souls maintain a connection to our bodies.

Mindfulness and Self-Awareness are key to maintaining our grasp on how we travel during Astral Projection.

During your journey, you must visualize your destination. Preferably someplace you are familiar with, as your mind will guide the soul to the place.

The effect is strongest when visualizing a person or groups of people you know. You can find them regardless of where they may be in the world. Our personal connections are stronger than any other when our souls are concerned.

You will experience a sensation similar to unconsciousness when traveling. This is because the mind and soul, when detached from the body, cannot interpret physical travel. Do not be alarmed as you are moving at the speed of thought. Without the external stimuli of travel, the mind and soul simply arrive.

Think of your experience as lucid dreaming and that your thoughts are at the cusp of becoming reality. Guide yourself through your experiences as birds carry themselves on currents of air.

This advice will help protect you on your journey through the Astral and Etheric.

And now we come to entire point of this book, and your reason for opening it in the first place. We will now share with you the "formula" for attaining Astral Projection.

We must caution you again, this is rarely a failed attempt by most, the formula works if carried out exactly. The secret of success is your ability to control your mind and soul.

You will know that is has worked when you see a crystaline pyramidal object form in the center of the brazier. It will have a blue glow and seven sides, this is The Seven Lamps that we discussed. As the essences and materials coalesce they will take the form of the described object. This is a focal point for the material, spiritual and metaphysical energies to combine and facilitate travel. This object will breakdown once all the material is burnt away, and will immedaitely fall apart if removed prior.

In a space of your choosing, avoid areas where you may encounter unexpected visitors, draw out the two large designs in wax made of human tallow.

The first being the The Seven Lamps, this is where you will commit your brazier.

The second being the The Circle of Anima, this is where you will conduct yourself later in the instruction.

Both of these sigils are presented this book. Make them large enough to fit yourself fully within them

Set your brazier in the center of the circle for The Seven Lamps and arrange a kindling pile of Ash wood.

On top of this pile place the following inside in no less than one ounce measurements:

Mercury, your Mind

Salt, your Body

Sulfur, your Soul

Gold, which must be placed in the center of the brazier.

With a mortar and pestle, combine the following into a paste:

Spring Water

Cannabis Indica

Ayahuasca Leaves

These ingredients will assist in the dissolution, and separation, of your mind and soul from your body.

Ignite the brazier, and when the flames have begun to take, add the paste to the center of the brazier with the gold.

Return to The Circle of Anima and allow the smoke to fill your lungs. It is advised that you sit in a chair or lie on the floor, as the separation of your mind and soul will cause your body to fall limp. As you breathe, visualize your Astral destination. Consider as many details as you can on the place. People are easier to visualize in our minds. Your vision will begin to blur as you feel the separation and this is where your journey will begin. When you are finished simply visualize your own body as you left it in The Circle of Anima and you will return.

In April 1939, Henry Kuttner published "Hydra" to Weird Tales magazine. The story is about a few college friends interested in the occult discovering a booklet titled "On the Sending out of the Soul". It described the means to Astral Project with seemingly safe instruction. However, whomever the traveler visited or saw in their journey was hunted down by a terrible cosmic creature called The Hydra. A living sea of gray flesh that was populated in itself by millions of decpaitated heads. Some human, most alien and horrifying. The traveler in the story encounters this beast and narrowly escapes but his friend that he saw in his vision is killed. Thats not all there is, you should go read the story yourself.

However, in the story the book itself is very vague and not well described outside a few key elements that were added to this story for continuity. I thought I would try writing the small book as I imagined it may have read, but worded for the modern day. Informative, academic but mysterious and enticing. The whole point of the book is to fool people into performing the ritual so that The Hydra can claim more victims. I assume that there is some organization that prepares and secretly distributes this booklet for the hapless victims to find.

The book is described as being only 8 pages long with the "formula" for Astral Projection on the final page. Im not sure I hit 8 pages here, but maybe the booklet of the story was also small in physical print. Who knows?
