Which Would You Prefer?

One of the biggest and weirdest questions in the Star Wars universe is the debate between blue and green milk. Colored milk has fascinated and weirded-out Star Wars fans since the introduction of blue milk in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. Then, fans were introduced to green milk in Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi. And ever since then, fans have been wondering what the distinction is and which milk is better: blue or green? It has turned into quite a debate.

Well, Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker, shared his own thoughts on the differences between blue milk and green milk. Galaxy’s Edge, part of Disney Parks experience, has served both blue and green milk. Mark Hamill has again stirred the debate up again with his post on Twitter in June 2021. Hamill says:

#StarWars-Blue was "long-life milk" meant for camping trips that needed no refrigeration: warm, sweet & oily 🤢#Yuck 👎

#LastJedi-Green "milk" was non-dairy coconut water dyed that color in post-production: cool, tasty & refreshing 😋#Yum 👍

#BattleOfTheBeverages 🥛

A fan on Twitter had asked Mark Hamill what the taste difference was between the blue milk and the green milk. Hamill gives his take on each, finally giving fans the answers that they have wanted for years and setting the record straight as to which one is the better one.

Mark Hamill told fans that he was definitely not a fan of the blue milk from Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. It was oily, warm, and sweet…basically gross. It definitely doesn’t seem from Hamill’s post that he liked drinking it. However, Hamill liked the green milk so much more because it was actually not the same kind. The green milk was actually just dyed non-dairy coconut milk…so, tasty. At least to Mark Hamill, who, from his post, looked like he much preferred that one.

Which is so interesting, because many fans think that the green milk looks worse. Although, that could possibly just be because of the scene where we are introduced to the green milk. Luke is thirsty and goes over to this large creature, milks her, and then proceeds to drink the milk. Green also has a tendency to be associated with nasty tasting stuff more so than blue. However, if given the taste difference between warm, oily, sweet stuff and refreshing coconut water? I think most fans would agree, coconut water, aka green milk, is definitely the better option and better tasting.

Star Wars fans love to have debates. They love the opinions and battles back and forth about what is right and what is not. Such as: prequels, originals, or sequels? Do you like the Skywalkers or not? Etc. etc. Mark Hamill loves to get in on the debates on Twitter with fans, and more than once has sparked more fun fighting or just given us little tidbits of insight into behind the scenes lore of the Star Wars franchise.

Mark Hamill loves to respond to Star Wars conspiracy theories and fan theories. He also loves to respond to questions about Luke. He also has touching conversations with fans. Mark Hamill is an amazing person, and has been a source of so much fun and happiness for Star Wars fans. Mark Hamill, please keep interacting with the fans on Twitter!

This development with the green and blue milk discussion is going to fuel a lot of debates, especially in regards to how fans are going to feel about it at Galaxy’s Edge now.
