GPT-4: The Future is Here and It Starts Next Week!

Living in the 21st century is no joke as it is a constantly evolving experience. With new technologies being introduced almost every other day, especially in the form of AI, many of us find it tough to keep up with everyday life. As someone who quite often thinks of disconnecting from the chaotic modern world and technology, I now find myself contemplating what I may miss out on, given the breakneck pace of human and AI progression. The reason why I'm saying this is that Andreas Braun, Chief Technology Officer at Microsoft Germany, recently revealed that GPT-4 may be released next week.

Now, many people who are already familiar with Chat GPT might be wondering, "Another chatbot? Is it really a big deal?" But let me inform you that Chat GPT is currently using the GPT-3.5 AI model, and it is already producing a wide range of creative material, including songs, poems, stories, and even jokes. You can tell by default that GPT-4 will be far superior to the currently functioning model, but the question is: to what extent?

Well, it is being said that GPT-4 will most likely be 500 times more powerful than Chat GPT. For instance, GPT-4 may enter into the scenario with machine learning parameters of 100 trillion, which is as many parameters as the brain has synapses, whereas Chat GPT has only 170 billion machine learning parameters. Clearly, it will be more authentic with its information, especially when dealing with controversial tasks.

One of the most interesting features of the GPT-4 model is that it will generate videos from simple text prompts, whereas Chat GPT and other GPT-3.5 models are confined to generating text-based responses. Braun says, "We will introduce GPT-4 next week, where we have multimodal models that will offer completely different possibilities - for example, videos." Imagine typing a few words, hitting enter, and a custom, unique video is made for you. Talk about feeling like a king! As cool as it may sound right now, one can not help but wonder how much havoc it will cause across social media platforms as it will be utilized highly to generate quick bucks all over the world. As a result, competition will reach skyhigh all across the web, changing the course of various activities that were used to conduct in a certain way.

Overall, GPT-4 is indeed a revolutionary model that will make its mark in the field of technology. It is astonishing how AI is advancing in such a drastic way. There is no doubt that, like every other thing in this world, it will have certain pros and cons. As human beings, we are evolving and should keep pushing the boundaries. AI can play a significant role in that evolution. Therefore, embracing AI may sound practical, considering that it is already a part of our lives, but there are still many aspects to consider, such as potential risks and ethical considerations. After all, "with great power comes great responsibility." Let's hope that in the future, when we look back at these moments, we will laugh at how tense and scared we were of such chatbots (in case humans stay in charge, that is!).
