It's fun. It's dirty. It's healthy?

Let's talk about love. No, actually let's talk about sex. Such a fun topic to talk about, isn't it. I'm sure when you're hanging with your girlfriends or your buddies, this topic comes up frequently. You probably talk about that person you met at the bar, how you took them home with you, and played all night long. Or maybe you talk about your sex life with your partner. Maybe you like sending naughty pictures, or maybe you like having someone new in your bed every night. If you're a girl, you probably go into all the raw, dirty details. C'mon ladies, you know you and your girlfriends do that. Me and mine do! Boys? Well, I'm not a guy so I don't really know, but I'm sure you do, too.

Sex is beneficial for your physical and mental health. There are three types of sexual people in this world. The ones that don't have it unless it's for procreation, the ones who have it for fun, and the ones who believe that sex shouldn't be for fun, that it's a very serious thing. Now I won't get into the religious side of it, mostly because that is a topic for another time. However, I will talk about the fun stuff. You know, the dirty stuff. ;)

Did you know that women are friskier than men? Just about anything turns us on.

Did you know that having an orgasm is actually good for you? It lowers the risk of heart disease, stroke, breast cancer, and depression.

Did you know that 87% of married men who read 50 Shades of Grey claimed their sex lives improved? (READ THAT SERIES)

Did you know that having sex has been shown to relieve headaches?

Did you know that you burn about 200 calories for every 30 minutes of sex?

Did you know that when having sex, you don't think about how it's dirty or about the nasty things you're doing?

Did you know that 76% of men and 72% of women reported having no regrets after losing their virginities?

There are so many other statistics that show the benefits of having sex can range from lowering stress levels to lowering your risk of cancer and heart attacks. Sex facilitates bonding and feelings. Not only does that feeling make you feel warm and fuzzy, but it reduces anxiety and boosts your overall health.

Sex is addicting. It's intoxicating. The feeling of having someone intertwined with you, on you... in you. The heat you feel. You're doing things you never thought you'd be doing. Having that kind of connection with someone is powerful. Even those who are all about the one night stands, they are making a connection, too. It's fun and playful. It's an adrenaline rush. I'm an adrenaline seeker. Not like the jump off a cliff or out of a plane kind of seeker, but a sexy dirty love kind of seeker.

So we know there are the religious reasons, and we know there are the fun reasons. Then there's the spiritual reasons. The raw connection of not only connecting your bodies, but connecting your souls. The essence of spiritual sex is enhances awareness, extraordinary inspiration, and a sense of merging with another life force. There is an sense of love for your partner when the sexual energy is intense. You're trading energies, exploring the beauty, power, and strength that comes from a spiritual sexual experience. I'm not saying that this is a bad thing. I have felt this kind of power before and it's like nothing I've ever felt before. But that's not to say that this form of intimacy is greater than others.

One of the best parts about being a single young adult is that I have the ability to do whatever I want, whenever I want, with whoever I want. I'm all about connecting with someone, but it's also quite exhilarating to meet a stranger, someone who doesn't know your secrets, but is willing to take you home anyway. To be flirty and touchy-feely is fun too. Maybe to be someone you don't get to be in the real world. To let go of any hesitation, to be intoxicated and overwhelmed with feeling, to crave their touch. To escape reality. It's addicting. It becomes an obsession.

I'm a believer in the powers of sex. Not the spiritual side of it, but the health benefits, the intensity, the power. We live in an era now where it's okay to be free with your body. Words like whore and slut aren't abusive anymore. Everyone's having sex, everyone is sleeping around. It's the people who take it to the extreme that ruin it for everyone else. But, that's okay. I encourage everyone to be dirty! Be sexy! Do the things you've always wanted to do! HAVE FUN!
